At first glance I thought it was a nontypical, but it was just a small matchset.

I took a walk this afternoon and came up with my 10th of the season, and my biggest so far. I rough guessed it at around 70 inches. Nice to get a big one now and then!

Same here, I bumped into two 8 pointers yesterday and they had both sides. I chased them for a little while to see if anything would drop but no luck.

In the high winds yesterday they almost ran right into me, I just happened to hear a crash, turned around and there was a doe and two bucks 20 feet away, a fun little encounter for sure. Wish I had a camera on me at the time.

I too saw an 8pt still holding on Saturday in the Metro. I'm really pumped about the snow, for a second there it was looking like we could actually make it out in the metro and find something....

This has been a pretty slow season for me so far, I'm glad some of you guys are finding bone. Good luck to all.

Found this set this morning...

I wish. I'm sure some of you have heard of the "Excelsior" buck from this past summer. Well these are the sheds - I heard close to 90" a piece.

Yeah it is the new mn state record and 6th biggest set in the world. 175 0/8 with one side at 90 3/8 and the other at 89 5\8. The duluth news tribune has the story. Insane deer!!!

I checked my cams 2 and a half weeks ago. All were wearing antlers. Some were ever sparring. Cool stuff.

its not odd.

IMO, 20% of bucks shed in December, 50% in January, 20% in February and 10% in March.

there's a lot of factors, but when its all said and done these are the percents i have come up with in my observations.

Nice set HT! I went out yesterday morning for a couple hours. I didnt find any but my buddy got one and he is now at 32 for the year. Did see a handful of carriers yet... enough snow already!
