Superstition(s)

TB you out fished me plenty of times, and a carp counts for something right?

My supersition is if I don't bring the tool box it will break down.

My plug is on a chain, or was, D'OH!

If I don't bring a camera I'll catch a hog, if I do I'll catch it's babies.

And always use a polymar knot!

here's mine, true story too-

never take your hung-over buddy back to camp after getting skunked in high sun for several hours, then return to the water by yourself, without a camera and knock down an 8 pounder. He'll never beleive you!! And still doesn't.

I'm hooked...all these polls have gotten me thinking. How about superstitions?

Mine would be:
1) Don't bring a net or I won't catch them.
2) Don't bring a camera or I won't catch them (other peoples' cameras don't affect me).
3) Check the plug at least 4 times...that thing has a way of "disappearing".

and last, but most important...

4) Never, never fish with anyone luckier than I. I hate getting out fished! tongue.gif

Ok.Here's mine.

After age 35. Don't eat eggs the morning you plan to go fishing. You'll spend more time on shore than in your boat.Don't let your fishing buddy either!

Don't eat the BIG white mints!

Never take a 12 ft. duck boat with a small motor out on BIG waters, especially in the middle.Bad accidents can happen!

I think this classifies more as a good luck charm. I keep an agate, a dime, and a fifty cent piece in my tackle box. I found the agate at a boat launch and just stuck it in the tackle box and we had a great day of fishing. I used the dime to scratch my first lottery ticket and we won a good chunk of money. When we cashed it in we bought some lunch and I got the fifty cent piece back for change.

For sure....No bananas onboard! I don't want to land the first fish of the day either, makes for tough fishing for everyone else.....I shake that first one off iffin I get it boatside.

Bring your buddies, you put them on the fish, show them what to use and they will catch the "almost mounters" or you'll here the phrase "d**, I should have mounted that one". Makes you just wanna throw your rod!!@

Reminds me of the dog I saw, only had 3 legs, it's tail was burned to a stub. Was completely blind in 1 eye and the other one wasn't far behind.....answered to the name of Lucky.

Banana's in the boat are bad luck when fishing.

Doesn't matter if they're fresh or dried. I spent 1/2 hour during a tournament flinging banana chips out of the boat. They snuck in the boat in a bag of Fruit/Nut snack mix.
