Great Stuff foam

I have a project where I need to be able to use a can more than once. Anyone have a trick to clean out the tubing so that it can be used a second or third time?

Also, anyone know if that stuff will work OK with the pink foam board? I'm concerned that it may eat up the pink stuff.

I have unscrewed the white nozzle and cleaned out with a coathanger or similar, same goes with the tube..... good luck.

One tip is if you need more then one can to do a job then use the same tip.

Now you have a unused tip for when you need one on a used can.

I saw something on Ask This Old House that I haven't tried but the insulating jacket on wiring (the white outside) is the same size as the tube so just pull the wiring out and use that, otherwise try a chunk of tubing and use that.

I don't know about the compatibility of the expanding foam and the pink stuff though.

I got by using the same can 3 different times. I just had to cut about an inch and a half of the tube off each time. Last time it was pretty short but got the job done. For whatever reason the foam didn't seem to harden all the way down the straw. Not sure if this is repeatable or not, but it worked good enough for me.

Try Handi Foam , have used it for years at work when done using set can upright, when u go to use it again peel foam off end it should work or cut a little bit off the tube.

Buy the smaller cans if you don't need a whole can at once, or just buy a couple of cans and keep them around. They are not that expensive and if you have to make a special trip to the store that sure eats up the cost of trying to re-use a straw.

No it shouldn't, you will be fine.

As long as the foam hasnt set, you can use acetone to "flush" the applicator tip.(dont forget to get a little in the nozzle also) Once the foam has set, there is no solvent that will break it down.

Foam will not eat foam. There are some glues and adhesives that dont mixc well with foam, but you should be good to go using spray foam to adhere sheet foam.
