What time of day did you shoot your deer ?

An additional ? would be where you are and what kind of property you hunt meaning is it an isolated 30 acres with no other cover around or are you on an 80 with no roads for miles etc. I think you get better daylight movement in the mass areas and first light last light in smaller chunks with not much other traveling cover in the area. Everything I saw was first hour last hour, there's an 8 pointer that is lucky I've climbed the ranks to 3.5 or older buck only, that 2.5 would've been toast 5 years bac and hopefully the 1 I can pursue next season unless someone else plugged him.

10am Sunday, 11/7, shot wounded 7 pointer

4:45pm Sunday, 11/7, shot doe

4:55pm Friday, 11/12, shot button buck I thought was a doe

8:55am Sunday, 11/14, shot doe

Overall party of 18, shot 11 for the week, hunting different properties. Four people each shot 1, Uncle shot 2, I got the other 5. Good year for me. No matter where I went if other people saw deer, so did I. If other people didn't I still probably did. My brother had terrible luck. He picked good stands & had first choice. After the first two mornings I'd choose after everybody else picked & the deer would come to me. I let an easy shot go on a buck, so it could go to him. He had tougher shots & missed, then my Dad most likely shot that same buck four days later. That was his only deer, so that worked out well.

I think of all those deer only one was killed between 10-4. That was a small 8 pointer shot opening day about 1:30pm. Granted during the week most hunting was just evenings.
