flipper
I couldn't believe the way Arizona just quit. A win is a win though I guess.I do not think I would give Childress any credit whatsoever.
FISHINGURU
Arizona looked like how we normally look.Child did everything he could to give the game away but the players stepped it up. Child sure is lucky we barely beat a bad team at home. I'd give the credit to Favre.Child did a bad challenge (like normal), wasted timeouts (like normal), and made stupid calls on the goaline (like normal). He did everything in his power to lose. PierBridge
You need a serious vacation my friend.... 2 excellent game plans in a row. Finally the players who actually decide the games came through!
fishersofmen
Listen to Pier guru, its gotten quite immature. Good game Chili.
OLY
Short quick passes, slants dump offs to peterson. Pretty solid game plan in my opinion. I mean where have those slants and wide rediever screens been this year why did it take so long to figure out something that works?
FISHINGURU
Only on FishingMN, you guys should do stand up!That gameplan was awesome!
Dark Cloud
Only on FishingMN, you guys should do stand up! That gameplan was awesome! I heard the 4th grade class at Elk River Elementary helped Chilly with the gameplan...
zepman
I thought it was another good game plan too...both offensively and defensively.I'm amazed at Favre's toughness at his age...it's really unbelievable. He get's literally pounded all game long...Big Mac is a swinging door...Adrian misses key blocks all day long, and Sullivan is plain terrible yet he stays in there and fires away. Not a pretty win...some more "weird" stuff and untimely turn-overs kept the Cardinals in the game...but it's just what the Vikes needed.Huge game this weekend at Chicago...if we can find a way to pull one out on the road, we'll be right back in it.Go Cowboys!!!!! FISHINGURU
I heard the 4th grade class at Elk River Elementary helped Chilly with the gameplan... I hear that, maybe that's why some of these guys think it was an awesome game plan! It's amazing what a win can do, I bet you guys didn't think that when we were down 14 at home in the 4th. What exactly was the game plan? From what I seen it was the same old story except for this time they had a nice comeback being down 14 at home against the Cards that didn't even know which QB was gonna play this week and didn't have their starting RB. Digging yourself out of a giant pit you put yourself into throughout the game isn't a good gameplan. Gameplans that have Favre throw for 47 times and AP rush for 15 attempts is not a good one. WyoChris
Vikes, both offense and defense, played great in the 4th quarter and OT. Now they just need to figure out how to play that well in all 4 quarters of a game.... and we might have a chance at the playoffs. We have 4 games in the NFC North coming up..... still a lot of football left.
Fishing Junky
Let's just hope this carries over to the next game. Or do they lay an egg?
Steve Foss
Actually, I'm pulling for the Vikes vs Chicago. Then the Vikes can lose every game the rest of the season.
Dylan33
The "game plan" was HORRIBLE! When did the Vikings start playing well on Sunday? When there was urgency, we were running the hurry up offense/no huddle...which was when Brett was calling all of the plays! Favre calls the plays, everyone was happy and playing well....even the defense. This team will NOT play for Childress. As soon as Chilly goes, you will see a fired up group of players. Until CHilly goes, however, it'll be sporadic at best. FIRE CHILDRESS NOW!
FISHINGURU
Wait! What do you mean? That was the rope-a-dope game plan, make them think we don't care and don't try hard until we lull them to sleep and decide to play with 4 minutes left in the game!! AWESOME GAME PLAN!!That game plan against the Pats was terrific too!! Remember when we would march right down the field with AP then decide to throw a bunch in a row? AP should of ran for 300 as we blistered that team.Look what Cleveland did the very next week with Hillis. He pounded their face in for 184 yards while Cleveland crushed the Pats. bottomdweller
excellent game plan puhhhlease. You have AP going against a terrible run defense and what does chilly do.Pass pass pass just trying to get farve benched and hurt is my thinking so he can blame him for all his mistakes. How many rushes did ap have not many. Bad bad coaching
tsande00
Sure ended up a fun game to be at. The crowd was absolutely explosive at the end of the game, and 15% of the people had already left! Nothing like pulling out a comeback win. Cardinals aren't a great team but they were playing almost as desperate for a win as the Vikings. It was harder to tell on TV (I rewatched the game last night), but Fitz was getting open almost every single passing play. Had their QB been a bit better he probably would have done a better job of exploiting our secondary. Fitz is a beast.
nonteepical
when your down by 2 td's you can't waste time off the clock running the ball trying to catch up on the scoreboard, your forced to pass. getting behind in the score changes your gameplan, not to mention since your behind means the gameplan wasn't any good to begin with. MuleShack
They were saying on the radio that most of the big plays were audible calls by favre out of the "called play" into a hot read or what ever. Cant give chilly the cred here either
FISHINGURU
I totally would believe all the play calls at the end were Favre in the hurry up, there wouldn't of been anytime to get the play calls in. Just like the 1 good play they had when Moss was here is when Moss said to Favre throw it to me I'm going deep.AP had 15 carries, thats horrible, ofcourse when your down by 14 you can't sit there and run the ball repeatedly but he still got a couple carries in that comeback so up to that point AP had what 12 carries in 3 3/4 quarters of football? Coming into the game Arizona was one of the worst teams against the run. We always abandon the run to early and to often. Some of them games we marched right down the field during the first half AP would have like 15-18 carries in the first half, then for the rest of the game he gets like 3 or 4 and they were tight games right up to the end, thats pathetic. When he did get the ball the play calling is run right, run right, run right, lol.I also would not doubt for a second that Fitz was open every play, its easy to do in Cover 2 when you don't have very good corners or safties on the field. Like i said earlier we would of been scorched if the Cards would of got a little better QB play.
