Shack
Childress has never instilled awesome in me at any point during his career. Not that many Vikes coaches have in my adult time following the team. The only one I had admiration for as being a good coach was Green. Would I like to see him back, not really, but Chilly has honestly never given me anything other than a let's see what happens feeling. I will go down with the ship if some form of "loyalty" is had on my part, but that has really never happened with Childress even though it was a work in progress type thing. I now am coming to the point where I feel things are just not working out. I know people had formed an opinion on him right away based on looks, not bringing an instant SB win with him and other reasons. I gave him his time and I feel the type of crowd I relate to finds themselves thinking this, the love has gone past its prime and is spoiling on the front stoop while in the sun. This past week I officially have turned my back on Childress and promote his removal. We have dropped good players weaker reasons than there is for keeping the Chilmister as our head coach. greebs
I don't think it will happen but now that they got the tougher part of their season done, but what if they end up making playoffs and making it to nfc championship or superbowl? coaches usually don't get fired following that kind of season. I do think anything short of that and he will be gone if he even makes it to end of year. Players on the team have lost respect for him. I think had he not allowed favre to play him and made him come to camp right away the last two seasons, it would have gone a long ways to making the players realize who was boss. That just set things in motion where players are not afraid to call him out now and critique him openly. Heck even 2nd year player percy must have hung out with moss in the last couple weeks to get the attitude. If and when fired, he still will show up on another coaching staff in some capacity. Looks like he's just another one of those guys who can coach a part of the team but not a head coach kind of guy.
PierBridge
You guys were right Harvin and Favre will struggle without Moss as a lazy decoy....
flipper
They beat one of the very worst teams in the NFL by the skin of their arse and you think Child is a genius.
PierBridge
No not a genius by any means. So 3 and 5 and winners of their last 3 division titles is one of the worst teams? Math genius? I think favre said it best to today in the post game game press conference....... to blame the coach or any one individual is just plain "COWARDLY" Go Vikes! fishersofmen
It is funny how if we hadn't come back and won the game Favre and Harvins 3 turnovers causing a loss would have been Chili's fault. Wa wa wa its all Chili's fault. Look a little deeper kids.

cbrooks
If the Vikes make it to the playoffs. Brad's probably staying for another year. I have mix emmotions there. I see it if the Vikes lose here on out thats one more nail in the coffin for Chilly. Oh he!! go Vikes

FISHINGURU
Thats what I'm sayin, it should of been a slaughterfest. A win is a win but I'll never understand how that was a good gameplan. I think Paul Allen has a couple ID's on this site.

Yeah they are one of the worst teams, they were on the road without their starting RB and didn't even know who their QB was, you must be talking about when they had Warner. Vikings fan or not could you imagine what would of happened with a QB that could throw the ball? Favre was right, I wonder what Child was thinking when he blamed Favre for a loss this season? He must be COWARDLY!!
flipper
They are for sure the worst team the Vikings have played this season IMO.
FISHINGURU
I'd say, it's funny to compare them to the same team they had the last few years after they lost Warner,Boldin,Dansby, Rolle, Mcfadden, to name a few in this offseason. Not to mention the NFC West has been known to be the weakest division in football. Wa wa wa its all Chili's fault. Look a little deeper kids. So Childress is the hero now? Why is this? For scoring a field goal in sudden death against the, let me think, ummmmm????? Ahhhhhhh?????? Oh yeah the AZ Cardinals. Let me get out my confetti and Hoo-Raw horn. When is the ticker-tape parade? Or is it because Chilly The HEAD Coach of the Vikings chases the big, bad, spoiled rotten Moss Monster out of town? I seen coverage of it on Kare 11: OHHHHH! Wait! Let me think for a minute here??? What on Gods pretty little green earth does a HEAD coach have control over? I know, the picking up on trades involving key players. Could an NFL HEAD coach actually sign a key player's paycheck for even a one weeks worth of work, let alone an entire contract length? Not a chance in heck. They only way a HEAD coach has is talking with the franchise/team owner who actually says the YES or the NO. I know we will never know the truth, but what is the chances Ziggy spearheaded the Moss trade deal? I would figure some in here would think this. No it was Chilly-cold-popper himself down on his knees begging Ziggy please. So Chilly is a hero for inviting the "Monster" to town and then using it to gain the "Hero" HEAD coach thing? I guess I am sorry though. According to Favre blaming a teams HEAD coach is "Cowardly". So out of this whole instance/ordeal we have seen Chilly become a hero, also a wise and legendary coach because of yesterdays game & for going over the an owners head and make a 3 & 5 season look like 7 and 1? This really is working out for Childress and Chilly. We are not only going to have a new stadium, but schools and street are going to renamed Ziggy and Child2ress. I guess Childress Field sounds better than MOA Field. You want to crown him? Go ahead and crown his head! As for Randy Moss spoiling anything? Fir-real? Who spoiled Randy Moss then? Carter? I guess they are only in their 20's and are soooo impressionable still. Forgive me now, but we are talking about an NFL Professional Football team her correct???? How many of you think it would fly if you pulled a deal like this with out consulting your superior/boss? How many of you, I will give you "at the young tender age of your 20's" had a fellow employee who (union guys your are lying!!!) would do wrong things because he/she had the feeling they felt as it being right? You needed a job and did you become a mess? The factory is not productive and producing what the owners want who do you blame? The entire production staff? LOL! Don't Blame The Head Coach? Why do have them anyways then? Who accountable? When do they start firing the owners and star quarter back? Is this a pull for a better Coaches Union? God this season is really getting thick and bulging.

PierBridge
The "cowardly" comment by Favre was a direct shot a Chilly...from his comments after the GB game. You guys watch too much sports center... go watch and listen to the interview before posting what you guys think may have happened. He said and I'm paraphrasing, Its really COWARDLYof FANS to blame the coach for the situation we are in......hope that helps! Nothing to do with the media\fans over reaction to Chili telling the truth, as if the whole world didn't know about Favre's poor play. For the record I'd take a New Coach tomorrow if it's Dungy or Gruden!!!!
FISHINGURU
Ol' Chucky would be fun and bring some character to this team. He's passionate about the game, I think the players would feed off his energy.I was wondering if he could even coach this year since he does MNF? They might have him under contract or something. Steve Foss
You guys watch too much sports center... go watch and listen to the interview before posting what you guys think may have happened. Guilty. But if you can't trust Sportscenter, who can you trust? On a side note, Brett just called scores of thousands of Vikings fans "cowards." But hey, he's gonna retire at the end of the year anyway. Right?

fishersofmen
I never said Childress is a hero. What I have said is he had a good enough game plan for his team to win the game. If player mistakes (Chili's fault) hadn't spotted the Cardinals 14 points it wouldn't have been close. IMO Childress has had a good enough game plan in every single game this year for us to win. Here are just two examples of why this team has gone in a different direction this year vs. last...... Brett Favre's turnovers have given our opponents over 50 points. Our defensive line has played like sh!t. Go ahead and blame Chili for everything, just seems to me like the easy thing to do. The fact is if a handfull of players were playing the way they were last year we would easily have a winning record and you would still be on the Brad Childress bandwagon....
