I talked to former Minnesota QB Sage Rosenfels on Sirius NFL radio this week. Now a member of the Giants, he thought Brad was an absolute id iot during his time in Minnesota. He could not believe Brad called plays as offensive coordinator for the Eagles prior to getting his head coaching job and said Brad was "clueless."

Bud wouldnt have traded away a 3rd round pick for a player and then 3 weeks later pretend he didnt know what he was getting. Its not the dumping of Moss, its trading away a 3rd rounder for a guy and pretending like you didnt know what you were getting that torks people. Along with not consulting anyone else!

That's the reason why Chilly was either going to trade him or cut him...either way, Sage wasn't going to make the Vikings roster this year. We have a double negative as a head coach here in Minnesota....an idiotic control freak!!

I recall Brad Johnson and Gus saying the same things about Chilly after they left too...the writing was on the wall a long time ago.

Imagine what Favre thinks of the guy....??

This is perhaps the biggest reason Chilly has to go NOW. No free agents are going to sign with the vikings with his reputation around the league being as bad as it is. He needs to go NOW!!!

Wasting a 3rd for Moss just to drop him is about as bad as wasting picks to move up to take Junkson in the 2nd when he was a projected 5th-6th rounder.

We not only need a coach, but we will need a quarterback as well if Favre does actually retire. Personally I think that he still has the skills and maybe he would come back if we had a coach that actually knew what he was doing. Example: Cohwler, Dungy, or even Gruden. If he doesn't come back, what are we gonna do? Frazier isn't the answer, look at his defense!

Here's the way I look at it, and of course I don't follow the Vikings closely but only peek in on a game here and there.

The argument whether the players have lost faith in Childress and won't play hard for him, or whether the team is playing poorly as a whole for some other reason, is moot.

It's the coach's job to motivate a team. Why he can't motivate the team isn't important. The fact that he can't motive them means he's the wrong man for the job.

Just IMO.

Well even when the team was doing good like last year I thought our weakness was the coach. Not like he's ever won us a game, I know forsure he's lost us quite a few, and some big ones at that.

The only reason not to fire him is if you think he's the future of this team and we can't win without him.
