Bugs

I went to North Dakota this weekend to get things ready for the archery season b-4 the rut and I could not believe the bugs still out.

Have others found the bugs that bad in your area also?

The Skeeters are still out in the Bemidji area! For some reason hunting and bugs just don't feel right.

Last weekend they seemed to be gone, didnt see one. Now it seems the warm water has allowed another hatch. GREAT! Glad I have my thermocell.

just shot about 30 arrows in the backyard, got bite like 6-7 times in about 20 mins.

Theres a fine line of where the bugs are still at. Was up near at my cabin near I falls for the last week and not a bug around and we were out in the woods bird hunting a lot. Went west about an hour friday to the rainy river near birchdale and there plenty still around. Same deal last week elsewhere, was around mcgregor bird hunting and was getting bit but went north and east around cloquet and barely a bug around. Out of the arrowhead it just hasnt been cold enough to kill them off and now a week in the 70's and who knows.

Was over near Ladysmith this weekend for the youth hunt and the bugs were really bad but the thermacell did the job keeping them away and making the time on stand enjoyable.

Went out this morning to pull down a stand this morning and the skeeters bout carried the stand out of the woods for me. Couldn't believe it. Last week hunting on Ripley, the bugs were a non factor.

Need some good cool weather to finally send them away for the est of the year.
