I hate to miss it, I've been to a few in years past. Unfortunately you didn't check with my calendar before scheduling a date! grin I've got a fishing trip/bachelor party that weekend. Looking forward to pictures!

The big event is on Saturday! Get out your portable fish houses and bring them by for a chance to win some great prizes! Also, remember there is a FREE raffle for everyone who attends... as well as FREE food and FREE seminars! Talk to company reps and enjoy a day of ice fishing talk in September! Things kick-off at 9am but we open at 5:30am if you want to stop through early... I will be there bright and early when the store opens to talk ice fishing with anyone willing to listen smile

My timing couldn't be any better. I'll actually be in the area on September 25th. With that said I'll be attending a family wedding. It's also my 28th wedding anniversary that day as well. What do you think my chances will be of making it to the(Portable Modification Get-together)??

I hope everyone has a great time, I'll be there with you in spirit to some extent. grin

I also have a wedding to attend Saturday...dang. Was really hoping to make it to this one after seeing the pictures from last year.

Maybe I'll see you at the wedding.

i definitely will be stopping by to check out this event as it is not too far from my house. can't wait to see all the cool stuff and gear up on some ice fishing gear. lots of big ice fishing trips planned this year, including 2 to LOTW, so i am itching to fill the tacklebox with a bunch of new toys

MN Bass...

They will have tons of ice gear on sale and on display. This week is ramp up time to prep the store for the on-coming ice season and the get-together is the grand kick-off. It is something you certainly don't want to miss. Infact, with the new location, the ice gear is always on display somewhere, you just have to ask where. Usually it is moved up to the seminar room upstairs and still available for viewing.

I will be there with my modded Fish Trap Guide. I built a plywood storage system into it that holds everything I need in a day's fishing and more, without the mess. I will also have my Blue-Box Hot-Rod out there on display. What is that you ask? It is the old style Vexilar Blue Box that I have added custom heavy duty pvc rod holders to along with a ram mount for the Lowrance H2O gps. I have also added some velcro strips to the blue box along with my containers for Gulp! Alive plastics, so they don't fall off or spill or leak. Works pretty awesome. Most of my ice season, I get by with my auger and the blue box, no real need for a house. But when I bring the little guy, he likes to use the house too. I might have a couple rods rigged with fly-reels out there too. wink

Awesome! I've never been to the store before so I'm excited, I think I'm going to swing by early to do some shopping and then again around 1-2ish with a buddy to check out the mods!

EVERYTHING is the store will be on sale! smile Whether you want an ice fishing rod or a muskie rod... everything will be discounted.

As far as ice fishing gear in-stock, we just got our Clam order in that took us about 3-hours to unload smile... so the ice gear is starting to pile up! Not to mention new MarCum, Vexilar and many other company products recently added to the store! When you come on Saturday you will see the line of Clam, Frabill and Otter fish houses... plus all of the Vexilar, MarCum, Humminbird, Strikemaster, Jiffy, Lindy, Northland, Custom Jigs and Spins, Berkley, Rose Creek, Reel Weeds, Today's Tackle, Aqua Vu, Catch Cover, Cold Snap Outdoors, Abu Garcia, plus more! The first chance ANYWHERE to see the new line of products for 2010/2011 by all of our favorite ice fishing companies!

See everyone on Saturday! smile

  • Your Responses - Share & Have Fun :)

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
