Fluker
Been a lurker more than a poster lately, but wanted to share the news. I pulled the trigger this week. I ordered a 2011 BassCat Eyra and I'm PUMPED! I'm going from a 2003 Pantera IV, who will have a very excited new owner soon (fellow board member). Went with Charcoal hull and top cap, Rasberry bolt and cap insert, Silver trim stripes, and a White nose cap / rear insert and boot. After quite a bit of thought, I went with Birds. 1198 / 958c combo. I was running a x28/x27 combo, and also had a 797 I used for only SI. So whether I went with Bird's or the new HD's it was going to be a learning curve for me. In the end, Linda Colt / quality support, and the fact I feel Bird is listening to us as anglers more was why I made the decision. I think the HD's are great units and I'm sure I would have been happy with them, but there was more to the decision that just that. Here is some info on the Eyra is you're interested. Several new innovative ideas from the folks down in Mtn Home in this model. http://www.basscat.com/eyra.html

TR21HP
Fluker,What do you have for a motor? I've been reading about some insane speeds with just a 200 on the back.

Fluker
TR - I'm just getting the 200. I'm not sure about insane speeds, but the 2 that have been out there and ran are reporting 72/73, with one guy hitting 75 and posting a Bird recording of it. My expectation is 70-ish, and I'm OK with that. The hull design is supposed to be just amazing for performance, and I would expect nothing else from Rick. He's just great with that stuff. Now I would use the word "insane" for that fact this is a 20' hull (20'2") to be exact, and I don't know many at that size that will hit 70 with 200 ponies. Throw a 250 on it (rated up to 285), and most of us would need to learn how to drive it... I know I sure would. ) And to the mr Whistle Boy above.... name change time? ALL_IN
I'm going from a 2003 Pantera IV, who will have a very excited new owner soon (fellow board member). Excited??? I can not express in words how excited I am to be walking in to a new boat! and the legendary "Fluker's" boat at that! I mean it would be like going to live with KVDThe worst thing about the whole deal is that I told Fluker that I was looking for a boat and he offered his boat up to buy and that was in April... so here I have sat waiting since then... but it will be worth the wait.I am happy for ya Fluker and I will make sure to take care of the kitty! The real question comes down to this... what do I name "her"? I have always named all my boats, the current Lund is "ALL-IN" which is also our "handle" on the marine radio... so any suggestions for names???
