Both of my parents grew up Nordeast, so most holidays featured sausage from Kramarczuk's or Sentyrz's or Ready's Meats. Twins fans can feast on Kramarczuk's sausage at the new Target Field, so it's going to become more mainstream than it was when it was just a neighborhood meat market. It's now located in the area where Nordeast meets Southeast and has undergone extensive urban renewal and a facelift. Still, the products are fantastic, it smells like an old-fashioned meat market, and you'll be burping garlic for days if you buy their Polish sausage. You gotta buy the Polish sausage... grin

Be sure to visit Nye's Polonaise Room across the street. Go there for lunch and tell the Jacobs boys I sent you. You'll be an official Dark Cloudski when you head back to New York.

Thanks for reminding me about this place.

I was at a twins game earlier this summer and had a polish at the game and loved it.

I wanted to find the place that made them and go pick up some and check out what else they have to offer.

I think this just made my saturday to do list laugh

Any other "Suggested" things to try?

The homemade meats, kielbasis, and sausages all looked great but what caught my eye were the dishes in the cafateria style restaurant. Especially the Varenyky(perogi) and the cabbage roll(halupki). Halupki are about my all time favorite dish and thiers looked like how mom makes hers. Except the sauce is diff... cool

i would agree that kramarcquk's is the best place for sausage. their polish is tops with me. you bite into it and the juice sprays in you face and the garlic and seasoning take over. the horse collar ring bologna seems big enough to use as a hula hoop. their fresh hungarian sausage is awesome also. i make my own sausage now but i still go there for the polish. someday, someday, i'll come close. thats what's fun about making your own. there was a place in duluth called fitchners years ago that was awesome. they had a sausage maker from germany [of course] and he made all their sausages. no reciepe book-a little this and a little that. he used to have a vodka bottle he kept in the swedish sausage brine to keep it cold. yeh the good ol days. when he left the buisness went downhill and it closed. good luck.

Funny, I was actually eating some Andoulle Sausages and cherry bomb sausages last night, about the time you posted this.

I grew up eating their food. Their meat market is awesome. I buy Cherry Bombs (summer only), Andoulle and Italian sausages. Their brat/sausage buns are great. I get a quart of kraut and a quart of german potato salad.

As far as the deli, I stick with the combo. $12, but you get a sausage, kraut, pierogies and a cabbage roll.

By the way, they also process deer, and their beer sticks are the best I've had.

i always knew they processed deer. i process my own and make my own sausage but you dont know how many times i wanted to bring my trimmings there. just once and i cant bring myself to do it. i would think it would be awesome, but since i will be smoking my own this year my german stuborness continues. that will not stop me from buying the polish and more. good luck.

Just try to not get hungry when you check out their web site! They even have on-line ordering now. To get the full appreciation of their market, lunch on site is a must. Great soups & sandwiches & of course, all that great meat! grin

Same here,

Stopped down there on Saturday afternoon and I couldn't believe there was a line going down the side walk to eat in the restraunt. There was also a wait in the meat market.

We got a bunch of polish, some anduile and italian sausage and tried some wild rice brats and a jar of kraut on the first trip. Had some for supper and it was absolutely excellent.

I chopped a few anduille up and fried them up with eggs and onions and cheese on Sunday and that was awesome too.
