cupper
Went out last Friday... seemed to be big rubber in deep water. Zero follows on blades (shallow or deep), zero follows on a phantom (shallow or deep), then I clipped a bulldawg and had a fish on w/in 20 casts. Low 40's fish came unhooked at boatside. Tossing it into a mid-lake reef with the boat in 20+ feet of water. Water temp was 70.
TrophyEyes
Bulldogs deep, phantoms shallow. Only when it got warm did the fish move up. The fish were reacting when the lure was dropping. That seemed to be the trigger. Do not pull the lure away from the fish, they are very negative right now.
Deet
So far topwater lures have caught every fish in my boat. My buddy has one hawg wabler that has caught four fish this year alone. We've had follows on other baits but they have only eaten topwater. Our fish range from 32 to 46 inches so far. They have been most active at sunset. On Saturday my friend (mentioned above) called me after landing a 46 incher [by himself] that ate a hawg wabler late in the afternoon. I was on my way home from duluth, so when I got home I met him at the landing to join him for the sunset spree. He had only seen one tiny fish all day other than the one he caught. From 7 to 10, we only saw about 3 more lethargic fish, but then one 43" attacked my topwater prop-bait. We landed her, and she was beautiful. It has been a weird week. In three trips we landed four fish, but besides those that ate, we didn't see anything aggressive. Usually I will see 5-10 aggressive fish and MAYBE catch one. Lately we see 2-5 lazy fish but then find one or two that eat.

Nick Kuhn
I can tell you staying at home sure isn't working. Haven't been fishing since June 6th
JRedig
Fish are chompin', from blades to dawgs to topwaters and everything in between.
mainbutter
The one time I went out I didn't raise a thing.. It was a new lake so I was trying to hit as many areas as I could, but still focused shallow. Next time I'm out I'm going to pay more attention to water that's a little bit deeper. 50inchpig
i've heard of a few fish shallow here and there and usually check my shallow spots every time out but haven't seen a thing up there yet this year, kinda weird because water temps should be pretty favorable for a few fish to be up in the skinny. fishinorfarmin
Been out a few times so far and only had luck with WTD lures. Most of the eaters have been within the last few minutes before sunset.
