I think the bowtechs are coming with the new octane string now but allways used to come with winners choice from the factory. I just replaced my winners choice on one of my older bowtechs after 4 years of hard shooting string was still good just figured time to replace it and have a summer to shoot till hunting time.

If a quality bow company puts them behind their name, that should count for something.

You'd think that, but all of the big name companies have put mediocre strings on their bows at some time or another, most of them pretty recently.

I was referring to bows that come with quality strings.

If a bow isn't performing out of the box as advertised then they need to say that.

The bows perform well out of the box, but the cheap strings start to stretch and creep. If they do so evenly, you may not notice until you actually see changes in your peep or dloop rotating. My bow shot fine for 20-30 yds, but the changes were noticeable.

My PSE Xforce came with factory strings in '08. The very next year PSE started using Winners Choice because of all the complaints. My bow still shot well, but my string was twisting and I could tell it had stretched because it was leaning on my string stopper now.
