Hoiberg named new coach at Iowa State

Just read that Fred Hoiberg will be introduced as the new coach of the Iowa State Cyclones tomorrow... a bummer for the Wolves in my opinion as I felt he was the only guy in the organization that was worth a darn.

Congrats to Freddie! He is a great guy, I got to meet him a few times. Our kids played little league together.

We'll see how things go for him. He's huge in Ames from his time in HS to IA State. Tough place to win, hopefully he can find and develop some kids. Big 12 is a tough place to play FB and BB.

He always seemed like more of a college guy to me anyway. Never seemed comfortable in the front office of the TWolves.

Great to have him back here in Ames. Hope that he brings us Iowa Staters some good basketball that we have not had in years.

I think he is putting the pieces around him to have a solid career. Just needs a little luck along with that I think.

I know his family from growing up in Ames and are just as good of people as Fred.

I doubt he sells that Minnesota cabin to. Why would he plenty of time for college coaches in the summer to hit up some lake time.

not alot of time to do much when a college coach as they are always or should be watching summer league games and recruiting.....there is a small window where you can't recruit during......but being a college coach there isn't much free time

You got yourself a class act, there. Best of luck to Fred and the Cyclones. The T'Wolves were lucky have a guy of his demeanor for as long as they did. Still the most underrated 3 point shooter in NBA history!
