Are the Moral's going to be a little earlier this year?

What do you think? With this warmer spring do you think the Moral's will pop a little earlier this spring? It sure seems like my spring allergies are getting a head start!

Its been nice enough and now we got the rain..it just seems too early yet.

When I see the asparagus start up, the shrooms are about a week-10 days later. But the old adage of when the lilacs are blooming ,it's hunting time. My gut feeling they will be a week early if the temps stay warm. BTW, the rhubarb poked through this past weekend

I am going to guess 10 days to 2 weeks yet and that's if we get the needed rain.

We have had light frost the last 2 mornings.

I came home yesterday and a friend dropped of a bunch of very nice ones all cleaned. He told my wife they are coming.

I hit that guess close on when they would pop. I stated above on the 9th, about 10 days.

What kind of areas do you find these morels in? I read that by elm trees is popular. Do you want to look in wet areas?

I'm not finding many in real wet areas and you can find them in other areas other then just by Elm trees.

Dead elm not the white ones ,you want the ones with kinda rust colored bark only been dead a couple a years those old white ones will give up some later in the season usually yellows.
