New State Record Walleye

Recommended Posts

Might be a dumb question, just wondering where Fort Thompson is about?

Take Hwy 34 West until you get to the river.

In my opinion with the rumors, pics etc going around the boats are gonna be stacked up there. I know I wont be fishing there any time soon.

No...you are talking about Minnesota State Highway 34. This is South Dakota State Highway 34.

Fort Thompson is about 140 miles west of Sioux Falls on the Missouri River. It is just northwest of Chamberlain, and southeast of Pierre, SD.

Here is the same fish with different people holding it. Notice the background is the same. Even the shadow angles in all three pictures are the same, which means the pics were taken one after another.

Big fish indeed. 15.59 lbs and 33 3/4 inches. I think the 18.4 lb story is fake but this is the runner up to South Dakota's state record.

The guy in the pic is Jeff, and his buddy cought the fish, it was cought below the dam at Ft. Thompson and it was recoreded as the second largest walleye in SD. Jeff mounted the fish and his buddy wanted to clean it. There have been several others cought in the 15 pound range but none above 15.59 pounds and 33 3/4 inches.
