lures for Zander in Germany

Scoot

Recommended Posts

I've got a buddy who's going to Germany for a couple months and will chase zander while he's there. Can anyone tell me what artificial lures are popular for chasing zander in Germany? I'd like to get him a couple to try out while he's there. If there's something I can order online that wouldn't typically be used here in the States, that'd be perfect. Any suggestions appreciated.

If you look on the Catch With Care Sweden HSOforum they have some good stuff that I know work well for Zander. They come over every year for a few weeks to fish muskies and tell us about how big the zander and pike get. Just google CWC sweden and click on the first site. Most of it is in swedish but you can get the jist of it or just use a translator. I would see if your going vertical or trolling the strike pro stuff is always a good choice! GOOD LUCK!

Gotta learn a few things about hunting and fishing in Germany. You just don't walk in and buy a license. There are certain times that courses are offered, yes, weeks long schooling. After that, finding places to fish is difficult and spendy. I went thru those aristocratic ceremonies when I was stationed there. Maybe things have changed but, a guy I know that just came back said it wasn't worth all the hoops that you have to jump thru to catch a couple of trout. We used alot of Mepps for most species. I'd be interested to see if your bud will be able to wet some lines while he is there.

Paul P. you beat me to it. I still remember taking the test and jumping thru all the hoops. The base I was stationed at had a Rod & Gun club so we had a lease on a portion of a good trout stream, which made finding a place to fish much less costly.

Wayne, where were you? I was at Ramstein from Sept 63 thru Sep 66. Spent alotta time at our Rod & Gun club as well. I actualy only went fishing 3 times while there. Too busy playing baseball and traveling all over the continent and England. I worked in the Kinsbach Cave.
