I just want to add to Warroad recuiting. Pierbridge is right Warroad does recruit there players. I think thats how Oshie got there. Its actually a well known fact that they get players from all over.

Yes Oshie was recruited by North Dakota! He was living in Washington and the closest rink was 1 hr away so he only played 2x a week and other days played roller hockey. His dad has families that live in Warroad so the summer before his sophomore year, Oshie and family were in Warroad for vacation....he got to skate a lot more at the Gardens and he wasn't a great skater but had the hands and shooting skill. So he and his dad moved there and started his HS career at Warroad, he improved as the season went on and ended up being one of the best players in MN!

This is getting good, and i havent even ticked any one off.

Hey Brooks, just so you know. You are NOT invited to watch the game at my house this weekend. Apparently I have about 5 Sioux fans coming over. B/S out numbered in my own house. Atleast I have a gopher shirt I can put on my daughter, and my dog doesnt seem to mind if the Gophs suck.

Go gophers, and Ill give a cheer for mankato, they have gotten the shaft a quite few times. I bet they wouldnt make the tourny if they had 20 wins and were hosting it. Oh wait I think that may have happened. I they they were the hosts of one of the Xcel regions.

Oshie is a interesting story. I remember his dad(coach Oshie) would be all over town after the games. He was quit the character. TJ is a heck of a player and one of the most exciting. Thanks quack for posting on how Oshie got to Warroad.

Scott I hope to be at the games. I'm surprise you even have five friends nontheless five with good taste HaHaHa JK. I wish I was a little more computer savy, I wanted to put up the Holy Cross beating Minnesota(from u tube) at the Ralph. I'm just looking for away to get PB fired up.

Holy Cross ends Gopher's season

Chris Porter ends the Gopher's season

I'm sure someone will post the Wheeler goal . . but the next week, the Gopher's season was over.

The wheeler goal is played out. I will dig something up if the gophs give me something to cheer about. I am going to play the Holly Cross video in the background of the next Don Lucia show, while holding my "fire Don sign". Man im sick of him.

Id be careful, PB lives dangerously.

These stinking Sioux fans are invading my house. At least they like to drink though. Usually passed out by the 3rd period, just like the typical Sioux fan at the Frozen 5.

Go Gophers.

Thanks a lot PB, i have tears of joy rolling down my cheeks. What a game. Of coarse you have to have the radio call as the sound.

The Mike leg goal was more of a top circus goal. Totally diferent than the Broten goal.

I wish we had a Johny Pohl still. I loved watching him score goals in his office. I think he had about 5 goals that werent in his spot on the side and front of the left post.

Thanks for posting the Holycross victory shoelunch. I remember being at that game. That was the loudest that place has ever been and UND wasn't even playing. I had six extra tickets for that region playoff, so to make a long story short I was rooting for Minnesota so they would play UND and I could make some money off these tickets. I ended up breaking about even.

That Mike Legg goal is the most amazing college hockey goal. That the first time I ever saw the Neal Broten gamewinner. Goodstuff guys.

My Favorite is below. I'm still looking for that video of the Huskies NCAA win, having trouble finding it.

Maybe this is the year archerystud! I don't know what it is about the NCAA's and St.Cloud but you guys need to break this curse.

My pleasure - yes it was quite a night.

Yeah, funny, I searched for any clip or stats of a SCSU NCAA win and couldn't find it either . . . funny, because I saw two very recent wins for Bemidji!

That was probably the best game of that season end to end all day long!

Yeah I love those high scoring close affairs. That was the best college game I've ever been at.

FF again next week. I'll be in section 117 for all of them.

PB,

I should be seeing one little Mr. DP again as the rodent guy with all of us Husky fans.

Talk about some crazy games last year. The UMD win the Sioux loss with the tying goal scored with .1 of second left and the Title game in which Miami had it rapped up and lost in OT after giving up two late goals with the tying goal in the last seconds.

Parity.

    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
