frabill trekker 2 dlx

I had a Trekker II Deluxe. Nice house but it was a little too small for me. It has the really nice Empress boat seats, way heavier fabric than the regular Trekker II but I couldn't tell you if it is 600 denier or not. I think they used to sell them everywhere but now G.M has an exclusive on it. Very nice house, well made. I just wanted more room. Nice for 1 man a little crowded for 2 but usable.

My dad just stopped and looked at them at gander.$325 with cover...no brainer...said it was 600 denier too. It was between that and the yukon tc for 425 without cover. Clam went cheap on the seats and the sled is lame they have taken a step backward and frabill has pushed forward since bro joined the team. Nice houses!

Does this house have the 600 denier canvas or the 300? My dad is looking for a new 2 man and I am scoping it out for him...thanks anything else about this model would be nice to.Was it excusivly for gander? What all is with the dlx package?

It is an exclusive to Gander this year, and it comes with a free cover, so that chops off another $50 right there.

The Frabill Trekker DLX is actually my favorite 1-2 man shack in the line, and anywhere out there really.

If you remove 1 of the seats, it now weighs as much as the Commando....but it is far wider in front fish-able space.

It is a heck of a bargain now, and not many around, so jump soon if you plan to do so.

In fact, today is the Scratch Off Day for up to 50% in additional 1 time discounts at Gander. So the first 250 customers through the door get a scratch off card today and Sunday...good for those days only...but potentially a huge discount on a shack if you get the lucky 50% cards. They are good for up to $150 off any one purchase.

Thanks Ed! I let my dad know about that scratch off .He went down to forest lake today and picked up his first 2 man shack. We put the trekker dlx together today what a nice house! The frabill line is loaded with features that makes so much sense. The removable seats are my fave. Didn't know that the tub was same as the commando just turned I think the canvas is the best looking by far on the market right now. He drives a mazda 2300 so the size is perfect for him to haul with his gear. Great house and the quality is outstanding Im very impressed with frabill. It is comparable to the fish trap guide that i have in size and weight. I would give the edge to the trekker dlx though with the seat removal and the head room it has. Thanks again ... btw he got the extra 10% off and the 75 dollar off before that. plus travel cover for free good deal

I'm on my second season on mine and like it alot. The DLX indeed has 600d canvas. That was one thing I made sure of when I bought mine. As far as features/price, there wasn't a blue house that came close (and my intentions were to buy blue).

Other than some minor rouge mouse damage, Ive had no problems or issues with mine. The seat for the rear pole can be improved (simple to do). A good wind gust from the rear can pop it out of place. Another thing I did this year was purchased one of those Clam consoles. It works perfectly.

On the trekker or the guide? I have had my guide since 07 and no problems at all with it.

The Trekker. I bought mine last year and they have the bolts with heads on them that dont have phillips or flat screw heads. Not sure why but I had three heads strip out and pull through the pole holes. One happened at lake of the woods and I hit a hardware store to fix it. Stainless bolts is what I got for it. I love the trekker and was glad I bought it. Seats are so comfortable. I have a bad back and had no problems at LOTW sitting for 10 hours. Could have been a bad batch of bolts too

    • Sorry to hear that Duff. Will give my GSP's an extra scratch behind the ear for you guys today
    • Aw, man, sorry to hear that.  Shed some tears and remember her well.  They all take a piece of our hearts with them; some more than others.
    • yes sorry for your loss..  our dogs are always special...
    • Truly sorry to hear that duffman! I know that feeling.  Keep the good memories
    • Chamois passed away this weekend a couple days short of her 13th bday. What a great dog to hang out with here at home and on distant adventures. Gonna miss ya big time my little big girl.
    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
