Revo Premier

So, I have a few Revo STX-HS's and bought another one a few weeks ago. Now the Revo Premier is the same price and I can swap it if I want to. Has anyone used the premier and the stx? Can you tell the diff?

I have used both and I think the STX is better made. It has more bearings and has almost 5lbs more drag. Some say the breaking in the STX is better as well but I cant tell a difference. Both reels are equally smooth and the Premier is 2oz lighter. The only way I would replace a premier for a STX is if I am trying to achieve a super light setup.

Are these 2009 or 2010 models? The 2010 premier is sweet.

I own a premier but don't like it as much as the winch or even the curado e. It is very light however. I would stay with the stx if you are happy with it.

Don't do it. I got 2 Premiers last year, nice and cheap, and I like my 2 STXs better. The STXs cast farther and seem smoother. Yes, they are light as a feather, but i don't get the casting distance and don't feel the overall smoothness (word?) as i feel with my STXs.

I've heard the same thing from a few other buddies too, that took advantage of the deals last year on the premiers.

No matter how hard I try I can not get my Premier to be good friends with fluro - it seems to do something to it that no matter how I adjust it the fluro gets crimped in it somehow on the spool and weakens it...no idea what it is or how to even explain it so I am trying braid on it as of tomorrow.

At $129 the 09 Premier is a fantastic deal. It was originally $280, which I wouldn't pay for it, but at $129 you can't go wrong. It doesn't excel at light lures but works great for chuckin cranks or spinners.
