DonBo
Don't have a favorite, some are better than others. Most places around here will tell you they serve "cod", who knows? Most charge $8.
Steve Foss
Boy, that brings me back to the old days in LaCrosse. Traditionally, it wasn't just Lent when you weren't supposed to eat meat on Friday, and the Friday fish fry was a staple for most German Catholics while I was growing up. stick
St. Patricks of Cedar Creek in Oak Grove (just north of Viking on Nightengale). I have worked at the fish fry the past few years and they are starting to pack them in (but always more room). 5:00 to 6:30 on Fridays. $8 for adults and $3 for kids of mid age...really small kids are free. The fish is pollock, and they have a non-fish pasta normally, too. Veggies, au-gratin potatoes, buns, and cole slaw. A wide variety of desserts.Yum...I can't wait till Friday. picksbigwagon
I am sorry I didn't help the original poster: Glueks usually has a fish fry in Lent, at least they used to and Gallagher's White Elephant in West St. Paul does a nice job with their fish fry as well. Of course it has been about 6 years since we moved from West St. Paul but I am sure it is still going strong. I suggest you sit in the bar, the restraunt part was awfully small......
