To all those AD hater's

For all those AD haters that think the Vikings need to trade him, consider these stats from the 1st three years in the NFL.

Yards from Scrimmage:

Adrian Peterson = 5313

Emmitt Smith = 4828

Walter Payton = 4552

Total Tds:

Emmitt = 43

Adrian = 41

Walter = 36

Fumbles:

Walter = 30

Adrian = 20

Emmitt = 19

Yards gained per fumble:

Adrian = 265.6

Emmit = 254.1

Walter = 151.7

If memory serves me correctly, I'm pretty sure the Cowboys and Bears stuck with their guy and it turned out pretty darn good for everyone involved. Let's not get too hasty here, AD is the best RB in the NFL, why would we want to give that up?

i think his biggest contribution is defensees hafta watch him

and stayed key on him which makes the passing game better

not sure what it is but minn teams just seem to choke up in the big games cant place the blame any one place it just goes back yrs different players different coaches

what is it ????

I wouldn't really call us haters I would say frustrated realist. You can throw all the numbers out you want but it still does not cover the fact he can not play in a big game. This year he has two games to prove that. The argument here is not whether he can run with the ball we all no he can. The argument is can he hold onto the ball and not cost the team a game especially in a need to win situation... Like I said earlier. He was in 2 need to win games this year and he fumbled in both of them and with out those fumbles those could have been easily won.

Ok OK I didn't read the post right, I apoligize. So, after re-reading good point. If that is that case, does anyone talk about Emmitt or Payton's fumbles in their first 3 yrs. No, because they were not playing for the Vikings. But you do have to admit that is alot of fumbles.

AP is gash and power runner and the league figured out how to tackle those runners Wrap up and force a fumble. His numbers will continue to go down unless he gets holes to run through. To compare him to Smith or Sanders is ridiculous they were completely different style of runners. They made people miss them instead of running them over.

He only had 3 100 yrd games this year and 2 were against the lions and Cleveland.

AP can juke with the best of them. He hasn’t been given the holes this year. Give him some room and fuggetabutit.

Any fumble numbers below the league average, then there is cause for concern. At or above average you can try to improve, but I say you live with it.

I like how everyone wants the perfect back. Fast, Strong, runs with a heart, and never fumbles. laugh

Good luck with that one.

The Vikings O line sucked most of the year, he rarely had a hole to run through, that and with the addition of #4 our pass attmepts went through the roof as compared to years past.

I would never compare him to Barry Sanders, he was the best ever, retired early or he would have the rushing yardage record, not Emmitt.

Just a side note, Barry had 19 fumbles his first 3 years in the league too.

IMO there is no question about keeping him or not. We keep him. I think as of late he was relying to much on his power for running. He is smart and will figure it out down the line when to use the power and when to turn it on. Thats part of the problem if there is no hole He tries to power his way through 85% of the time instead of bouncing it out a way from the pile.He has to learn if the whole is not there go some place else.

what game were you watching he fumbled 3 times ans lost 2 of those both in the red Zone. And before you say the first one was Favre fault well Peterson took credit for that one after the game.

you must of had 1 too many Grain Belts; the mutual fumble was in the red zone (which was credited to Favre); and the other 2 was on NO's 45 and our 32; AP recovered the one on the 32 and Tahi recovered the other. beside the point, but just to get the facts straight...

game cant be blamed on just him, yes he hurt us, but he didnt lose any fumbles! Hes too good, he can improve his handling skills

The botched hand off was credited to Favre, but shouldn't have been. His hands were off the ball and AP mishandled it.

You guys can send him over here - he'd look good in a GB uniform!

Seemed like Green always found a way to fumble in the big games for us.

Those puke n snot uniforms are soooo ugly I don't think anyone would look good in one

LOL I wish I had those Grain Belts mmmmmmm! You know your probably right but I swear 2 were in the red zone I'm probably seeing two different views of the first one, witch can be argued as mutual. The game became a blur after seeing all those fumbles not just from AP and to top it off 2 INT. What was it 5 0r 6 balls on the ground and 2 in the air ouch. No doubt about it was an offensive team colasell screw up.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
