Here is some info I received from the tournament director last year:

FYI --- the 2010 Okoboji Open will be held May 2, and we will accept paid entries starting now. I will be sending out the flyers and entry forms by e-mail in January 2010. The only thing we can't be certain about is if the 2010 Okoboji Open will be a sanctioned Skeeter/Yamaha tournament in 2010 as we can't request that until after Jan. 1, 2010.

wayne have you ever fished the st.judes tourney on the river? it is the same weekend.

hour less of a drive for you and more predictable fishing in my opinion.

Have not fished the St. Judes. The Okiboji tourny has become a tradition for M. DaLoia and myself each spring.

I ran into Mike and Bill on the river while prefishing for the st. jude last year. We all used to fish the same club a few years back. Deitz was in that club too. I havn't been down to Okoboji for a few years. I was wondering how big this tourney is these days and what it costs to get in? I'm getting tired or donating $$ to the river rats and skegs to the stumps and sand...

Superduty, Mike and I joined the club on the same night, we have been good friends ever since. Meeting him upon Lake of the Woods this coming Monday. Deitz left just prior to me joining. The Open tournament is not expensive I think less than 150 per team.

You're right Ike, lots of good people are involved with that event and it's for a great cause. The fishing was pretty good for us but we ran out of spots and fish on the second half of day two. Definitely a home field advantage down on the river. I get a little braver (or is it dumber?) every time out! It's just sand right?
