I have a blower fan out of a dodge van, does anyone know where I could find a cheap(being the operative word) control to tame it down? Doesn't have to be variable, as long as it's got a granny gear!

You can get a cheap reastadt at Graingers for a 12 volt for cheap. I would think maybe even napa can get one also..

Why don't you go and get a couple of computer fans. They are small, cheap and quite and move a good amount of air for their size.

i made one with the blower out of a 79 ford truck. you just need to put a resistor in series with the motor. on the vehicles that resistor is in the heater box where the fan can blow on it to keep it from overheating. otherwise go get a rheostat rated for that many amps. or get a computer fan

I have used a headlight/dash lights dimmer switch from the junk yard. Every car has one and they usually let you have it for free.

go to a "tools and more" store and get computer fans for 2-3 bucks they work great, even better if you put em on a toggle switch

Really? Are there different sizes? I had 4 of them in my wheel house and they didn't do a thing. I went and got one of those 12 volt truck fans and while it is a little noisy and uses more energy, it works excellently.

I have a osillating fan 2 speed that goes into a cigarette plug. It has a very good clamp to put it about anywhere. It does move air with no problem. Got it at a local store. ends with t starts with w.

I have computer fans spaced 4" from the ceiling, and they move a lot of air. I tried them at 1" and it didn't work at all.
