DRH1175
I searched you tube and everywhere can't find any. There are videos of Strikemasters, Eskimo's, and Jiffys everywhere. Anyone have one of the nils. Just curious to see how it runs/ cuts.

Bigslugger
The sizes of the augers are not even the same! How is it even possible to compare a 6" Nils to a 8" SM????
Esox_Magnum
Nils augers look small, I had to measure mine when I got it thinking I got a 6" instead of an 8". If thats a 6" the Nils would have been several more holes ahead. Both looked like the same sized holes they drilled, maybe the guys in that vid will speak up. Borch
The sizes of the augers are not even the same! How is it even possible to compare a 6" Nils to a 8" SM???? Both are 8" augers. The flighting on the Nils is about 7" but the holes are the same size.

DTro
We shot this today. Thanks to Aanderud for showing us how it's done. 6 holes in less than a minute The ice thickness here was anywhere from 6-9"
rcatcherman
It looked like any auger I've seen that started and had sharp blades to drill holes in ice.

Esox_Magnum
It looked like any auger I've seen that started and had sharp blades to drill holes in ice. Using a Nils is an experience you have to try, that vid does no justice to what the auger will do. When I drill my 6 hole set in the shack I dont have to take but 2-3 steps and even in 30" of ice can drill all 6 in 90 seconds or less.. harvey lee
If one goes through all the HSO shows, there is one with Paul Waldowski drilling holes agaimst another auger brand.Paul is done, standing and watching the other finish his.The Nils is awesome. harvey lee
rcathermanCheck out this link, then scroll down to the Lake of the Woods-Upper red crappie show and watch the Nils commercial. It will show how well a Nils cuts.http://iceleaders.com/videoarchive.htmlI have had many a race against other augers and have yet to lose one.I had one fellow who had a souped up Jiffy and he said that auger would kick my you know what.Well, we had a 5 hole cut off and he did keep up but the good ol Nils still finished first. trapperdirk
It looked like any auger I've seen that started and had sharp blades to drill holes in ice. Well your absolutely right it does look like any auger with sharp blades drilling a hole in the ice but as said you actually have to experience feeling it take you down as you give it the gas .I used to be one of the biggest nay sayers and make jokes about the little Nils but finally broke down and bought one with the assumption that the Nils would be shown up . Guess what, it gave me a big surprise and was exactly and even more than all the ravers claimed .I actually have alot of fun drilling holes with the Nils and there is nothing better than showing how fast it digs . It really doesn't even seem to turn real fast and you don't realize its speed till you look over at the guy beside you doing his best to be the fastest and your already done while he is still midhole .The only thing I don't like about a Nils is that I waited so long to get one .TD
