Found this first set of sheds last year has 16 scorable points. The right antler grossed 83 2/8 the left side 80 5/8 with a 20 inch spread credit this thing will score 183 7/8 gross. Here's the best part while out shed hunting last weekend found another of his sheds the left side scoring 80 7/8. The hunt was on to find the match after many hours of nothing finally it was right there halfway under a down fallen tree about 100 yards from the first one. This thing is huge with a triple brow over 30 inches in those three points. The mice and squirels have this side chewed up, every thing was there to get a good score luckily this side grossed 90 0/8. He only has 13 scorable points this year. With a 20 inch spread it will gross 190 7/8 truly amazing. Cant wait for hunting season to start. I think i have a good idea where this giant is living!

Great sheds guys!!!

Lung, were you up in Canada? I'm heading up for a fly in fishing trip in a few weeks and plan to spend some of the time looking for moose sheds. Any trouble getting any of the sheds back across the border?

Yea we always tell em. We find more than our alloted four each so we usually bring a bunch to the border, just in case they dont know anything about them! But they usually do know the rules and just take our extras. We havnt had any troubles with anybody yet. Just tell em you have the antlers and you should be fine

make sure you are looking in the staging areas i find more horns in areas where deer mill around near bedding areas and heavy cover but not always in heavy cover.. another excellent place to look is on south facing slopes where they lay and absorb heat during sunny days in the cold months. remember think like a deer. and you will become much more succesful... oh yeah you'll never find any horns sittin on the couch either. i pack a lunch, camera, cell phone, in a backpack"it's hard to carry more than four or five horns without a pack and never, forget your binoculars you will inevitably save yourself from having to go look at a shiny stick or an old leg bone from something.

Was out for the Wisconsin Fishing Opener and found this little skull along a river. It's not much, but the color of the antlers is pretty unique. I think it was in the river at some point due to the color.

He was pretty close to a road, so I'm thinking he may have been hit by a car and then died down by the river. The water level in the area that I was fishing really fluctuates, so I'm certain he was in the water at some point in time.

Monkster; he does look like a little devil! Did you end up having any luck by you?

Nothing! The area we received permission for still had most of their head gear on as of the weekend after Easter! When my sons and I walked it, we jumped 30+ deer, many nice bucks! I suppose they don't have any pressure and very little stress, so they hold on to their antlers longer. The landowner gave us another shot the next weekend, but by then I was up to my neck coaching baseball...

Hopefully, we'll get that one again next year, a bit later.

Good hunting!
