musky999
I was just wondering what you guys use for a radio in your portable house. I have a little cheap radio from Fleet Farm that works, but it seems to have bad reception and it is not durable enough to hold up. I am on my second one. I am just looking to upgrade and to see if the FMer's have any suggestions. Thanks, musky
fishnowworknever
I really like my emergency radio. Batteries are optional so all it takes is about 60 seconds of cranking and the radio lasts 60 minutes or so. Plus it's 100% waterproof. Scott M
I also like my emergency radio, although mine dies in like 5 minutes, doesn't get many stations, and is a little static-y. Guess I need a better one.
CJH
I use a small Ryobi radio that runs off of my 18v battery packs. I can get about a day of continuous use out of one battery. Mainly hook up the Ipod and listen to my playlists!!!
eyebjim
I picked up a RCA radio at fleet farm. Its the kind that is like the old radios, 8 D cell batteries that will last about 3 years and the reception is top notch. It is a little big. About the size of a ream of copy paper. I wont go fishing without it.
MNice
MP 3 with FM. Usually I listen to music if I'm by myself.
Rebeleye
I'm gonna try something different this year and listen to online radio or MP3's with my Blackberry. Picked up a small external speaker from Verizon's site. Should be set.... But, sticking to the AM/FM radio question that's a tough one. Most stuff gets pretty beat up if you're pulling a portable around. I bought up a small digital AM/FM weather radio from the hardware store in Isle a few years ago. Think it was 15 bucks, still works after getting trashed around the bottom of my portable.

marine_man
I've got a small dial radio that fits perfectly in my rod bag. It runs off 4 AA batteries and lasts more than one ice season for sure...marine_man
deadeye
I picked up a little emerson radio at FF a month ago for 15 bucks and it has a weather radio on it besides fm/am. I brought it with a couple weeks ago when I went down to the river and it picked up the vikes game perfect. Last year I had little tiny mini boom box but it ended up getting used as a hockey puck when it wouldn't pick up a wild game out on medicine lake. musky999
Thanks for the suggestions, that little tiny mini boom box is the radio I have been using. It would make a good hockey puck.
