sfd
I just got a call from my sister that she forgot to pull the turkey out of the freezer until this morning. I've always done 2-3 days in the fridge to thaw. What is the best way to thaw it for going in the oven by morning?sfd
TruthWalleyes
Throw it in a 5 gallon bucket of water.
JacobMHD
"To speed thawing, keep turkey in the original tightly sealed bag and place in a clean and sanitized sink or foodservice safe pan. Submerge in cold water and change the cold water every 30 minutes. The turkey will take about 30 minutes per pound to thaw."

iland99
Depending on how redneck your sister is, the bathtub might be an option as well. We thawed a turkey in the bathtub on Thanksgiving day once, but that's back when I was living in Texas.
Jim Uran
I threw it in a tote, put it in the tub and turned the water on a trickle until the turkey thawed. Moving water wil thaw it out quicker according to Alton Brown.
goblueM
moving water thaws it quickly because the water is cooled as it gives its heat to the turkey. Having the water running ensures the temperature differential between the bird and the water remains high enough to speed the process/just throw it in the fryer to REALLY speed things up//ok, kidding, kidding

BLACKJACK
Depending on how redneck your sister is, the bathtub might be an option as well. We thawed a turkey in the bathtub on Thanksgiving day once, but that's back when I was living in Texas. When we started going to SoDak, the guys before us were using the bathtub to soak their cleaned pheasants in!! Yuk!! Can you imagine the spuz and other good stuff that got added to those pheasants!!! delcecchi
Put turkey in 5 gal bucket. Set bucket in tub (or outside would work). let water trickle into bucket in thin stream. or use hose. few hours you have thawed turkey.
