Do cameras make mistakes in what they see?

This spring I was driving through North Dakota and I stopped at a wayside rest. There were Buffalo/Beefalo there so I snapped a few pictures. After returning home I was looking at the pictures and I noticed that it appears as though one of the Buffalo has some type of extra appendage on it. I didn’t notice it when I was there so I am just wondering if the camera made a mistake in what it saw or did I find the true source of buffalo wings? I can see there is a second animal standing behind this one so I thought maybe the two animals blurred together.

It sure looks like some kind of growth but if it is a Buffalo wing I will skip the platter and just take one wing with a dogie bag

Typical bovine type behavior...moving the tail to the side while eliminating. You just had really good timing, I think!

no wings on the hind quarters that I know of :>) hard to tell what it is.

Looks like a waved tail to me.

Definetly a tail. If you look at the closer Buffalo in the pic you can see that their tails comes out high on the backside,pretty much where that one is waving from.

That's a tail if'n I ever saw one. They can't do much back door business with their tail down.
