paceman
I was fotunate enough to Harvest a nice 10 pointer opening weekend. So this past friday I was walking though a thick wet nasty tamarack swamp hoping to push a deer to my buddy. Well low and behold a spot a shed. I walk over and find it and it's matching side lying a foot away. A nice little 10 pointer. Amazingly there isn't a scratch or nick on them. Perfect Condition. So I compare them to the one I shot and yes they are his from the previous year. What are the odds of that. Shooting a nice buck and then finding his sheds from the previous year a few days later. I can email pictures to someone if they want to post them for me.
sticknstring
That's really cool. I get excited from finding A shed, let alone a matched set from a buck you shoot. What an exciting week. I'll get them posted for ya.

picksbigwagon
I found a matched set a couple years ago, would have loved to have found the owner of the new set though......Great looking deer, now you will have to figure out how to mount those two together somehow
Double D
Many years ago my dad found a nice matched set. For Christmas a few years later we had them mounted and scored. 145 was the shed score. They are fun to find.DD

bobbymalone
How exactly can one tell that the shed antlers came from the same deer you shot?
paceman
By comparing the characteristics of each point. The angles, thetwists, the bends, the curves of the beams, the same mass.... The g2's, G3's for instance. It is easier to see while holding them. But there is no doubt in my mind at all. And the fact that I shot him 300 yards from where I found the sheds also leads me to believe they are from the same deer.
InTheNorthwoods
How exactly can one tell that the shed antlers came from the same deer you shot? DNA testing.
