Future weather related to Alaska

Like a lot of guys, my deer hunting season is over, waiting for ice now.

Often times, I hear weather people state that we get the weather that Alaska has about a week later. So, I go to check out Fairbanks, AK weather report.

High temp of -11 expected for them today with lows in the -30 range. Woundn't that be wonderful! I see nothing near that in our long term forecast though.

we dont always get the same weather that AK gets.. The dude on channel 4 pointed out how cold it was in Alaska this morning, but said that some high pressure systems were going to keep that weather pushed north of us.

At least I think thats what he said.

if you go to the fairbanks newspaper, they have live cam with the current temps looks pretty cool (cold).

I'm leaving Friday morning through next Wednesday. Staying on the hunting land in the Ice Castle. Can't wait to be gone from work for a week...

A lot relates to how the jet stream is positioned. Right now it's positioned to keep the really cold air way north, like near NW territories and beyond.

I certainly hope it swings south, soon.... right now it's great for the heating bills, but bad for the duck migration and ice fishing itches. I scratched the deer itch.

I see next week some cold weather and a possible snow storm? One can only hope at this point.

I remember seeing 20 degrees in Alaska on the weather channel and it was -10 here. That el nino is playing with the jet stream its gonna be a pretty mild winter. Just gonna have to tough it out. We should be on the ice on smaller waters right now... And were looking at a couple weeks yet. Not good..

I have always thought that we get the opposite weather as Alaska so watch for a big warm up there because we will make some ice when it finally happens.
