titelines
Crazy that it's been that long, doesn't seem like it.To the Fitz's crew, as well as all the mariners who have lost their lives on the Great Lakes - Not forgotten.

CRAZYEYES
I'm still facinated by it too. My Dad grew up a couple blocks from lester river in duluth and said it was a nasty storm and always told me stories about it when i was little.. Tomorrow is the day of the 1940 armistace day blizzard. My grandpa who grew up in southeastern minnesota used to tell me about that one. 49 people died in mn alone and most of them were hunters caught on the mississippi duck hunting. shale
I used to hang out with the daughter of the 3rd Mate when I was in college. She kept it the Fitz stuff very private. Kinda added to the mystery. That lake spooks me.
Jim43
That song has always had a haunting feeling when I hear it. My father worked on the ore carriers in the 50s, he worked a 4 seasons on the great lakes and had many stories about the storms they would encounter. The sick feeling they would get when riding a storm out and getting called for dinner. Old ore carriers had crew quarters in the back of the ship and galley and bridge up front. They would have to time the waves washing over the deck before making the sprint up. Always with the rope tied off to them. He said it was un nerving watching the wave pass over the deck and loose site of the bridge. Wondering if it will come back up. He knew a few of those men who went down on the Edmund.
