AndyM
I'm not sure if this has been posted before or not. I just came across it myself. If you are looking for aerial photos of your hunting land go the the MN DNR HSOforum. Click on Maps, on the left side select "Land View" once there scroll down on the left side of screen and click on 2008 images. After that right above the large map of MN type in the nearest town and choose "city". You can then zoom in and move as you wish. Pretty usefull pictures in my opinion. Phunnyfarm
I bought a nice, big laminated version of my family's property this past spring. The photos were taken last fall, and aren't viewable on the site yet. Now THOSE are cool!
bearslayer
Where were you able to buy this? Through the county the property is located in?
eyehead
If you wanna see some really sweet maps go to Bing maps....there incredible. You can get aerial photos but can also see from the birds eye view..I got three turkeys in front of my stand on the birds eye view. Check it out if you havent seen them. picksbigwagon
I just tried bing maps, I can't get the birds eye view to come up in the areas I deer hunt....
NorthernOutdoors
Any idea how to install the Bird's Eye view on Bing Maps?
MuleShack
Those maps are pretty cool. That birds eye view ads a higher resolution view to it.The areas that I checked: Map data is from November of 2006 based on landscaping changes of some of the properties that we maintain and the parts of my yard that were finished. Odonata
Google Earth offers the same maps as Bing, unless I am missing something? Anyone know if a more recent picture? Both Bing and Google are not within the past year or two.
elkhuntingfan
The bird's eye views are aerial photos taken from much closer. They are not available in all areas.
Nathansdad
Mapquest seems to have the most current photos I can find. I know this because I built my house in Somerset last summer and I built a food plot in our hunting property near Brainerd and both of these are shown on their photos. Odonata
Thanks Nathansdad~The resolution on Mapquest is great and you're right, they have more recent aerial pictures!
Phunnyfarm
Where were you able to buy this? Through the county the property is located in? You can go to the DNR site and buy them right there. I emailed the contact address, and that's how I found out that the photos were taken last fall and not in 1999 (like the site said).
DTro
Bing is great, but the birds eye view is only available in certain areas. What is weird though is that some of the merged maps are from different time periods. For example, you can look from the east and it's winter, and then look from the west and it might be summer.I was cheching them out a couple of weeks ago and spied my vehicle at a boat landing and a couple familiar boats on the river.
