It doesn't matter which way the calls go unless your keeping track. I just want to see the CORRECT call made. For the record there was NO consultation between umpires on ANY of those calls. Seems to me I have seen them quite often getting together and sharing opinions or views of the play in question.

It is amazing that they interviewed Mcclennen or what ever his name is and he said that a player coming from 2nd to 3rd had a foot on the bag. Funny he was the closest one to the play and everyone else in the entire country, both teams and all the fans in attendance saw he didn't. Just say you totally blew the call and I failed to do my job correctly, and I should have checked with the other umps, since I was blocked by players and could not see that runner.

I agree with Gary,

If these are the best the association has baseball is headed for instant replay and the enevitable drawn out review process and a 3 hour game becomes 4 hours. It is turning into a good series between the Angels and Yanks. Good baseball being played. Probably not to popular a stance from what I've read here but I would like to see the Yanks win the World Series. I think it is good for sports in general to have a dominant team or two. It seems to generate more competition and discussion between fans. After all the Yanks did nothing wrong in assembling this team and frankly their players are nothing special, save a few. I would rather have the Twins outfileld on my team, I would rather have Mauer and Morneau at their positions as well. Thats 5 out of the starting 8 fielders that I would rather have from the Twins than the Yanks. So its not just the money that you throw at players its the players themselves.

and playing the NL. they have a differnt foe with the Yanks or Angels.

THE AL dominance will again play out this yeat,, no Devil Rays the Phils are playing.

I pull for the Yanks, not because I like them, but because they give AL the best chance of sweeping the hapless NL.

Go Yanks or Angels, anything but the NL.

Cliff Lee and than who,,

PEdro?? please, the Yanks would scorch him.

Hamels?? that's scary agst the lineup he would face.

The Rays are/were no slouches. The Yankees didn't make the playoffs last year for a reason.

Blanton

Hamels

Happ

Lee

Martinez.

Phillies will have about a week and a half rest as well. The AL is going to have their hands full this year, the Phillies are tough.

Zamboni what are you smoking? They won THE MOST GAMES in baseball this year and you are not "impressed" because one guy did not win them? Huh? THEY WON 103 games dude. You guys just need a little cheese with all the whine that is going on and man up and admit that buying a team does work, spending money to buy talent does work. True, they have not won it all recently but they have how many rings, 26 or something crazy like that? Just move on, cheer against them, cheer for the underdogs but you have to admit that they do put a quality line up out there. And whoever was saying that they would rather have 5 of the Twinks starters over the Yankees has just been out fishing way too long and breathed in some fumes from the motor too long! LOL

They didn't win their games by starting pitching, Windy. I don't give 2 (bad word)'s how many games they won. From what I have seen, they won them in the late innings with their offense, they better step it up- the Phillies are going to be very tough. They will NOT be afforded a luxury of being held close in the WS, they are going to get blown out. Sabathia won 19 games, Pettite and Burnett won 13 and 14 games, THAT isn't all that great. Grienke did better on a much worse team. Besides, I don't hear any whining, I am making a prediction, and one that will be correct. Phillies in 5.

I would take ONE on the Twins, Sabathia. Pettitte is around 5 years past his prime and Burnett isn't that great.

Who cares about that??? They won 90% of those before even you were a gleam in your daddys eyes. Worse than a Packer fan talking about the 3 they have. 2 of those were from the 60's!! The amount of money the Yankees spend they should have 50 rings.

Gotta go with Windy on this one....a win is a win is a win.

How impressive it is does not matter in the standings.

And about Windy not having time for posting....you guyz would miss his banter...how many have wondered where he is hiding when the WSox lose?

THe PHils will not be facing COL or LA this time around. TB last year is no Yanks team this yeat.

Granted, the Phils lineup is impressive,, but I don't see Lidge closing out any game, none-the-less, a game in the Bronx.

Start Spreading the News... NEW YORK!!!!

Phillies in 5. A-roid has fooled the yankees fans so far in the playoffs, but now that it's world series time I expect him to return to his traditional playoff slump. Cliff Lee is going to pitch lights out in game 1 and the phillies will do just enough to win. After that the rest of the series will come quite easily for them. Ryan Howard world series MVP.

The NL has not won back-to-back titles in how long?? THe Philles are good, the defending CHAMPS, and have good pitching.

But like said before, they are playing the YANKS.

One intersting thing is that both teams led the mAjors in HR's in the 7th inning and later. NYY 72 and Philly 69. Should be some interesting late inning moments like always,, but once the Hammer of God,, 42 takes the mound--- that's the differnce.

#42 has to be one of sports most dominating athletes at his posistion. HE's the difference.

Yanks in 6

The Yanks weakness is their set up guys other than Robertson, that dude is the next #42.
