coffee
RE: Rifle season/regulations. I apply for and receive an antlerless permit for a lottery area. I shoot and tag a doe with that permit in the lottery area. Can I shoot a Buck with a rifle in either an Intensive or Managed area?
jerkbait
No. Once your main tag is gone you can only get bonus tags for the other areas which are antlerless only.
Bear55
Correct, once you shoot a doe in a lotto area your buck tag is gone.
Powerstroke
An antlerless permit allows you to use your normal firearms tag to tag an antlerless deer. If you shoot a doe in your lottery zone you no longer are able to shoot a buck. If you do travel to a managed or intensive zone you will be allowed to take another antlerless deer as long as you have a bonus tag.
lcornice
Ahh... so many right answers. I love it. By that way, that's unchanged since probably 1975. The either-sex permit has always been attached to your regular firearm license. It basically 'super-sizes' your regular license.
coffee
Thanks for the replys. I am clear with regards to the rifle license. The way I read the regulations, I would be able to harvest a buck in a Managed or Intensive area using either a Muzzleloader or a bow with the proper license for that weapon. True?? Archerysniper
Say you shoot a doe on your lottery tag you could move to a managed area or intensive and buy a archery or muzzle loader and you could take a buck, and you might be able to take a buck in your area with a diffrent tag like archery or muzzle loader but not a 100% sure on that. Powerstroke
Coffee- you are correct that if you were to buy an archery tag or a muzzleloader tag and use it in a managed or intensive zone then YES you would then be legal to kill a buck.To what archerysniper said, you are NOT able to hunt in a lottery zone with a different weapon if you have already tagged a deer in a lottery zone. You are allowed only one deer in a lottery zone no matter which weapon you choose.Similarly, you are only allowed 2 deer total in a managed zone even if you possess all three licenses, you are still only able to tag 2 total. All unused tags are still valid within the 601 zone as long as valid seasons and regulations are followed. This does not count antlerless permits. They are only valid in the zone for which they were issued in the lottery.

Archerysniper
Thankyou powerstroke for adding the lottery deer area I has not a 100% sure on that one.

lcornice
Thanks lcornice.......and people still tell you guys the regs are hard to understand. They can be hard to understand when you want to move around to different areas and hunt during more than one season. But, I keep harping that's the trade-off to opportunity. The easiest regulation would be you can hunt one area and kill one deer. But, we've heard loud and clear that people want more opportunity and with that increased opportunity comes the need for a more deeper understanding of the regulations. I hope that makes sense.
