Lost Yellow Lab Near Foley----HELP

Recommended Posts

Just got back home from Up North putting up deer stands...the wife tells me our Yellow Lab has been missing since Saturday Morning.

We live on the east side of Foley near Hwy 23. Our dog is named Daisy and she has a green/brown collar with brass hardware. She did have a name tag with all of our info...it is my hope that the tag may have come off and someone has her and will see this.

She is 20 monthes old...she is the dog that I promised a pup to Bowser up near Spring Lake after they lost thier dog to a wolf attack. Like all family pets...she is important to us.

Please call me if you have any info on her.

I'm asking the obvious but have you called the Sheriff, Vets, and whatever type of animal control you have there and left your contact info.

Fliers at the local stores and gas stations.

You might need to get that info out in the neighboring counties as well.

Good Luck!

Update...forgot post this.

We found Daisy...or I should say my old Golden, Sandy led us to her. It appears Daisy escaped from her kennal...my responsibility, and made her way to a near by property. We found her dead underneath a scrubby pine about 150 yards from his property.

It appears she had two gunshot wounds in her front quarters. The property owner had admitted two years ago to shooting another dog who was "near" his property. This guy has no livestock, no domestic pets, no children and has a small seasonal place located near public hunting land...why shoot a dog. When he was asked if the previous dog he shot was chasing deer, he said "No, I just did not like it."

I certainly feel responsible for the kennal...I guess the wire chain link included was not up to a frisky lab. But I feel worse for this guy who will never experience the honor of being owned by a great little pup.

RIP Daisy

Very sorry to read this Steve, I was hoping Daisy would just show up someday back at her home with her family. It's sickening to know there are people out there like this a-hole who would shoot a dog. Sad thing is, theres more like him. Such a waste. I hope the many good memories you made with your little Lab girl can get you through this tough time. Rest in peace Daisy.

I'm very sorry for your loss. My dad had a brittany pup that someone poisoned in the early 80's before i was born. It still makes him well up to talk about it to this day. Some people have no respect for life. I don't know how you feel because i have only lost a dog to old age and not meanness. But again I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure she is living it up in doggy heaven with all the fields and marshes in the world to run. My condolences.

Sorry for your loss. Its tough too loose a dog/friend/family member.

We are in the same position. We lost our Brittany Spaniel 1 week ago and he hasnt been found since. With the extremely cold weather, I can only assume the outcome is not good.

I guess this thread is a few weeks old. I would call the local sheriff's department and tell them your story. Not because you can do anything about it, but they should know they have a citizen who is willing and eager to kill people's dogs at the slightest provocation.

People inclined to do things like this sometimes end up being involved in far more tragic situations.

Like I say, you can't file a complaint I guess but you should let local law enforcement know about it.

And I am sorry you lost your dog. It always hurts.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
