What are your Minnesota Duck Opener Plans?

Buddy farm lake, and his slough, in west central MN. Expecting redheads, ringbill, teal, woodies, and hopefully some cans. And of course some mallards but really can't wait to see the divers again.

Not MN, but WI northern zone opens saturday. Have a couple of buddies into town for a week to have a weeklong waterfowl blitz! Will be hunting the WI river, some smaller rivers/impoundments, and the Mead Wildlife area. Probably open up on the main river.

i'll be tuning my minnesota opener teal shooting skills by hitting up the sodak opener on saturday....as for 'sota opener...

western minnesota, somewhere close to my farm. got a bunch of boys comin out for my bachelor party starting whenever we're done duck hunting. got an automatic trap thrower rented, couple crock pots full of bbq, chips, a keg, and hopefully 2 party buses to haul our drunk butts around saturday night. sunday is going to be a late start...maybe i'll just have to jump a few ditches during half time of the queens game.

This will be my first year not hunting in MN on opener. I will be in ND this year.

Near Parkers at "The Shack" for Sat and Sunday. Hitting a local lake in St. Michael (Pelican,) has anyone ever heard of it (JK) Then take a weekend off for the good ole wedding aniversary on the north shore (may sneak the gear with to see if any Richard hit the shoreline of the northshore propery I am staying at. Then the following tuesday night I am leaving for NODAK for 5 days. Should be a good start to the season.

I'm gonna pick some piece of state land and go out about 1/2 from opener and set up 50 yards downwind of somebody then start highballing at every duck I see and shoot 3 boxes of shell at ducks flying past me!

My opener plans will be to hit ND around the Forman area. I haven't hunted MN opener in 4 years. I can't stand the crowds or the 9 AM start. I can't wait. I can't believe it is only 9 days away! Good luck to everyone out there.

I hear ya Norwall! Ducks are pretty slim down by AL. That's why I am headed to ND for opener this year. I hope you aren't giving up on the whole season!

nope not givin it up as I'll be headed up north in mid Oct, Im Sure there might be a few birds ie. woddies ,teal few local malls but not in the #s to make it worth my while.Not to mention in my opinion 9am start is for the birds as well as all the goofs at the public lakes. Been there done that. Kinda like the fishin opener why go the 1st day when every landing is [PoorWordUsage] packed when ya got all yr to "get em " lol
