zamboni
Safety!!! He finds himself getting sacked in that end zone, ALOT. At least he doesn't run out of it anymore.

zamboni
MONEY!!! Sorry, Charlie, but with Cutler literally throwing the ball to the Packers defense, they shouldn't have needed a last second TD to win. They should have sailed. Rodgers is NOT all that and a bags of chips They should have easily won that game by 20+
LMITOUT
That last 50 yard pass looked like MONEY to me!Unfortunately for you, your team doesn't have a QB that can throw 50 yds AND be accurate. Envy sucks, doesn't it?
BrianLucky13
Rogers looked OK!! A lot of dropped balls which was surprising. Rodgers will make the pro bowl this year!!!

If the Packers can't turn THAT many turnovers into points, it's gonna be a long year, you're gonna have to play better teams than the Bears this season. The Packers right tackle (Barbre), didn't make things easy for Rodgers. He was TERRIBLE! Green Bay — If the Green Bay Packers wanted to make an emphatic statement that this team is much different from last year's 6-10 version, it was right there for them. After the offense scored to take a 21-15 lead with 1 minute 11 seconds left in the game, it was up to the defense to make one final stand in the season opener against the Chicago Bears on Sunday night at Lambeau Field. A year ago, the defense would have found a way to surrender the lead. It took one play - a game-clinching interception by cornerback Al Harris with 58 seconds left - for a role reversal. And a breath of fresh air. "That was just huge, huge for our confidence," safety Nick Collins said. "Last year we found a way to lose at the end. This time we made the stop. And there really wasn't any doubt we would do it. New year, new attitude. The difference is huge." So is the defense in general. Gone is the "We do what we do" mentality preached by former coordinator Bob Sanders. With Dom Capers now running things, the Packers force the action. They are the aggressors. And it took all of one half for that to be firmly established in front of a national television audience. As a result, the Chicago Bears and quarterback Jay Cutler, their shiny new toy and savior, look completely confused, discombobulated and out of sync. In other words, exactly how Capers drew up his 3-4 defense. "We wanted to come out and set the tempo," linebacker A.J. Hawk said. "I think we did that." Take away the 68-yard pass Cutler had to Johnny Knox in the second quarter (it was negated three plays later by a turnover), and Cutler was harassed into completing just 7 of 21 passes for 59 yards and three interceptions in the first half. That's a quarterback rating of 2.8. The Bears didn't do much better on the ground, as Matt Forte had eight carries for 15 yards (1.9 average). All told, the Bears had only a safety by the defense for their scoring in the first half. Cutler got into a better rhythm in the third quarter, but by the time Harris stepped in front of Cutler's final pass, he had thrown a career-high four interceptions. "It did surprise me," Harris said. "This is his fourth year; you'd think he'd be better than that. I don't know what he was thinking, what was going through his mind. The pressure got to him. He's still a good quarterback. It was his first game. He'll make some corrections and probably improve." The Packers did it by getting contributions from each player, not just cornerback Charles Woodson, who dominated the exhibition games. Four players had interceptions: Harris, cornerback Tramon Williams, Collins and, yes, even defensive end Johnny Jolly, who made a sensational play against a screen pass with the Bears on the Packers' 8-yard line in the second quarter. "That was a great play by Jolly," nose tackle Ryan Pickett said. "Really gave us a big lift, and we came away with no points. It was huge." The Packers also got one sack each from Brandon Chillar and Cullen Jenkins. Five players had tackles for losses: Jenkins (three), Chillar, Aaron Kampman, Hawk and rookie Clay Matthews. Green Bay also knocked Cutler down four times. "That's what we want to do, have everybody doing something," Pickett said. "Sometimes we don't know where it's coming from on each play. Guys were swarming, making plays. That's what we're about now. We want the other team to feel like we're coming from all over, because we are." Things didn't go perfectly. There were the expected breakdowns in the secondary that come with new terminology. Besides the 68-yarder to Knox, receiver Devin Hester caught an easy 36-yard touchdown when Collins cramped up and couldn't cover the ground. But overall it was a good start. "We did what we felt we needed to do to change things up," Capers said. "We wanted to be as disruptive as we could in terms of timing. You want to keep the quarterback out of rhythm, especially a guy like Jay Cutler. He hit us on a couple big plays. We have plenty of things we need to get cleaned up, but I was proud of the way our guys competed and we continued to take the ball away. That's normally the difference in the game." Born2Fish
I wouldn't say that GB had a great game(offensively or defensively). They did hold CHI to 2 points in the first half, but I do not consider Chicago to be that good of a team in the first place. I think their first REAL test will come on the Monday night game against the Vikings. Even though AP will still run for 200 and Favre will pass for 350 and 3 TD's!! muskymaniac4ever
rodgers is going to have a great year, they still need to get that running game going, and well you aren't going to get much time to pass against the bears they do have top five defensive line. any qb looks like [PoorWordUsage] when is getting pass rushed, example giants super bowl win, they made brady look like [PoorWordUsage],
MUSKY18
WOW.....talk about your one sided home team article!!! Yes, Cutler had a bad first half, but unlike mentioned in that article, he ate the Packers up in the second half. If it weren't for his interceptions, the Bears should have had many more points on the board. Sorry fella's, but even though holding Forte to just 2.2 yds/rush, they still gave up some yards in air. Yes, they knocked Cutler around a bit, but not so much in the second half. All the Bears had was a passing game, so they could play deep and pick off a quarterback who played below average ball. What happens when they play a team that pounds the ball and they have to bring 8 or 9 into the box? Improved from last year, perhaps, much better than last year, I think not. Musky18, if it was the purple who held Forte to 2.2 yds per carry and picked off Cutler 4 times you'd be bragging about the Vikings defense! I guess time will tell how much better the GB defense is. When Cutler was eating up the Pack in the 2nd half, how many times did he get the ball in the endzone? I think you need to read the article again if you think it's one sided. At least the MN Press isn't biased about their beloved purple right?
zamboni
rodgers is going to have a great year, Another one!!! OMG- they STUNK last night, Rodgers had ONE good play the entire game, and once again he runs into the end zone with the ball and lays down like a bad dog (again) If you Packers fans truly think they are going to the Super Bowl, I have some land to sell you all. Remember how the purple stunk it up against Detroit last year? The important thing is that they came out with a victory right Zambo? One good play from Rodgers???? LOL I don't think the Pack is headed to to the SB, but I don't think the purple will either. All the pressure is on the Vikings bringing in Favre to finally win a championship. If they don't go deep into the playoffs, you'll searching for a new head coach and QB (again)!!LOL I think you secretly have a crush on Rodgers, because you sure talk about him a lot! You were in the Navy right?
zamboni
Yes I was in the Navy, but I am married with 3 kids. Fact of the matter is the NFC is WIDE open this season, and the Vikes have just as good a chance as anyone in it to make it to the SB. The Giants would be my pick, but they lost all their WRs, so that hurts them bad. The AFC will have the SB champ once again, but I think the Steelers will be watching the Ravens this year

If it were anything less, then we might brag, but after leading the league in rush defense for the last 3 season, what is there to brag about anymore. The MN Press is biased but at least they report the whole game and not just the good parts that make all the team look like a rose in a manuer pile.
