fishyguy
Star Tribune reporting that the Williams boys are playing the entire season as the judge reaffirmed the earlier ruling.

TR21
Explain to me why the Williams'es got off and the Saint players have to serve their suspensions. It was a class action filing.
TR21
Did a little further digging and the reason the Williams Wall is allowed to play was because they filed their injunction under Minnesota State law which prohibits an employer from suspending an employee due to certain circumstances. Although the NFL moved the venue to Federal Court the feds agreed with the state ruling and upheld the decision.

Windy City Walleye Hunter
Glad to see your season depends on the "homer" ruling of some local yocal judge. If you can get away with it, cheat your way to victory! Good morals, but this is the team that learned their morals on the good ship lollipop with the dancing girls, or was it from their coach who illegally scalped Super Bowl tickets. The Williams did not make the law in Minnesota. Anyone with their head on straight would have went this route. If they are within the law, whats wrong with that? The boat deal is OLD news. Some never let a old scandel die.
Born2Fish
The boat deal, the scalping deal, are all OLD news. This is 2009 and all that stuff is in the past. The Williams did not "cheat". The pills were used to keep weight in check. And if I remember right, those same pills were on the accepted list of the NFL. Don't get mad because the law makers here have their heads on straight and can see a pile of [PoorWordUsage] when it is right in front of their noses. Windy City Walleye Hunter
Zamboni,I did not think that Minnesotans remembered back that far. They are always saying how the Sox only have one World Series ring and the Twinks have two. I will conceed that there may have been a player who took money though it has long been common knowledge that Joe Jackson was not the one and now you can conceed that the Sox own three World Series rings vs the two that the Twinks have. Sounds like a fair compromise to me.PS I knew exactly what you were thinking and you fell right into my trap!
zamboni
Hey Windy- I could bring up the classy Chi Town sports fans- disco record night at Comiskey, drunk father/son team beating up a 60+ year old Royals first base coach, etc.......... Windy City Walleye Hunter
So why didn't you? LOLBTW I was at Disco Demolition with my Peter Brown albumn. It was a great promotion that just got out of hand. 98 cents to get into a double header with a disco albumn. How can you go wrong? And yes, I was one of those wild young disco haters who stormed the field. Did not do any damage, just slid into home plate and ran back to my seat! zamboni
My worst Chicago sporting event memory was having a collapsed lung in the Navy at Great Lakes, being in the hospital for 4 days, 5 channels on the TV and Michael Jordan announcing he was returning to the Bulls. That was all I heard about for days
Jiggin4eyes62
I never felt they were cheating. The did all the research they were supposed to on those pills. IT was on the NFL that didn't handle it right. GLad the courts let them through. By the way, the saint's players aren't being suspended either. Windy City Walleye Hunter
Jiggin, The only reason the Saints players are not being suspensed is because of the homer judge in Minnesota who ruled for the fat boys. They did not want to create an unfair situation which makes sense to me, why should the Queens benefit from a homer judge and the rest of the league have to play by the RULES OF THE LEAGUE! Jiggin4eyes62
Might have been a homer judge but he got it right. The two of them jumped through the NFL's hopps and were told it was safe to take. It's on the NFL for not getting back to them and saying you can't take them. Glad someone had the ballz to stand up to the NFL.
Badger
I never felt they were cheating. The did all the research they were supposed to on those pills. IT was on the NFL that didn't handle it right. GLad the courts let them through. By the way, the saint's players aren't being suspended either. Many players send supplements in for lab testing before they decide to take them. Because supplements are so loosely regulated and monitored, the NFL and NFLPA have increased their efforts to warn and educate players. The league instituted a supplement certification program, through which players can attain approved supplements. The league's steroid policy goes into specific and thorough detail about the risks of supplements. "Despite these efforts, several players have been suspended even though their positive test results may have been due to the use of a supplement," the policy reads, using bold and italicized letters to emphasize the next sentence. "Subject to your right of appeal, if you test positive or otherwise violate the Policy, you will be suspended. You and you alone are responsible for what goes into your body. Claiming that you used only legally available nutritional supplements will not help you in an appeal." Players are responsible for what is in their bodies, and a positive test result will not be excused because a player was unaware that he was taking a Prohibited Substance. If you have questions or concerns about a particular dietary supplement or other product, you should contact Dr. John Lombardo at (614) 442-0106. As the Independent Administrator, Dr. Lombardo is authorized to respond to players’ questions regarding specific supplements. You may also contact the NFL/NFLPA Supplement Hotline at (866) NFL-SUPP or [email protected]. Having your Club's medical or training staff approve a supplement will not excuse a positive test result. This is certainly in dispute, as the NFL responds that "the Policy encouraged players to contact Dr. Lombardo if they had any questions, and the record clearly established that none of the players challenging their suspensions here had done so." zamboni
They did call and asked about the pills they were taking, and were given an OK on them. One of the HUGE points of them taking it to court and as far as they did. The NFL dropped the ball there.
