New2TheFly
The pie iron also doubles as a hamburger patty cooker.
zamboni
I have a Rome Pie Iron but the only thing we have ever made in it is pie crust with apple pie filling, very good though
Walleye Rueben
The kids use it for Grilled Cheese, Pizza (with sauce and pepperoni), and for Pies (bread with pie filling). This summer on our trip to Voyageurs Natl Park, I brought some cake decorating icing (in the squeeze tube). That was a huge hit as a topping on our pies.

reddsixx
Our favs so far:Use Pilsbury crescent rolls or grands biscuits instead of the bread. Spread it out in the pie iron, but be careful as they stay hot for along time!- breakfast sandwiches with egg, pre-cooked bacon, cheese, onions, green peppers, etc.- precooked chicken meat, pesto sauce, parm cheese, veggies.- pizza sauce, pepperoni, mozza cheese, veggies.- Smores pockets with bread, chocolate chips, mini marshmallows and crushed graham crackers or teddy grahams.
