Jarrid, good luck with your gig on Friday. We are tied up Friday with everyone getting in at various times throughout the day/evening but I will pass the word. I am going to assume it is The Checkerboard in South Range.

SaturdayAM: Hit Minnesuing from 0500-0830: Wind was howling. Fished some sheltered spots first. Did OK, couple of LMB, four snot rockets,One set the hook and kiss nice spinnerbait goodbye. Around 0700, went out and fished the windblown shore (Brutal. Trolling motor on 5-7 just to keep the boat going). HIt some wind-blown points on the east shore. Picked up a couple of LMB, another snake, and two 'eyes (14, 12 inches). The 'eyes were in the weedlines in about 8-12 fow.

Sat. PM: Wind still howling. Fished around the lake. Did well on the southern side (north of the channel) and caught 4 LMB and two northerns. Went up and fished by Sidelines and did very well in the hour I was up there. Three LMB, another snake, and one 'eye (a "generous" 12 incher).

Sunday AM: Slept in and got out for about an hour and a half before the rain hit. Two Largies and a darn snake (I am starting to dislike them). Went out after the rain stopped. Lasted about an hour before all the boats drove me off. One snake way back in that bigger bay on the state forest side.

Thursday- nebagemon- windy day caught fish all day but only 1 eye

Saturday- ulsc- windy, I mean windy. North side of lake had some 3-4 foot swells. Not to mention all the idiots out there. Way to dangerous to be fishing when you got people water skiing and jet skiiing without control of there vessels. Only stayed on for 2 hours till we gave in. But ws good for some nice gillz and a couple pike.

Saturday-st croix flowage- jumped down to the flowage because of the brutal wind on ulsc. Good for some blue gills, a couple of northerns and 1 smallie

Sunday- hit the st loui riv. Did real well. Caught 6 eyes. Some nice crappies and rock bass. Eyes were 20", 17", 17", 15", and 2 were 14 3/4". Sherpa boated a crappie 14 1/2". Also seen a dead floating eye that was probably 24"

today- ulsc- still idiots pulling skiers way to close to my stationed fishing boat. I'm happy all the cidiots will be going back to where there from today. Get the traffic back to normal. Caught several very nice gillz, 1 pike and lost an eye at the boat.

Kept the fish from the river, everything else released!

The weekenders and waterbikers need to realize that if they fail to respect our lakes, our residents, and our property, that they cannot expect us to respect their tires. I was out twice with my daughter over the weekend. I can see a strong lobby taking root to ban water bikes and over-sized(200hp) competition water-skiing boats from our smaller local lakes. Is there really any reason to have such a huge boat on a lake less than 300 acres? And when will the DNR require larger registration numbers on PWCs? These clowns blow by you knowing full well that you can't read their registration and report them.

Gonna hit the cabin this weekend. Will let everyone know what happened Monday. I will try for some 'eyes if the bass aren't hitting. You get three now? I'm gonna have to check the boat landing. Thanks for the limit update Jarrid.

Hit the Mighty Minne from about 0530-1030. Not bad. Little wind. Did OK. 6 LMB (two nice ones, the other 4 were "sub-prime". Oh, of course, another 8" crappie on a 5" Zara Spook. Best thing about today, NO SNOT-ROCKETS. closest I came was one jumped clean over my Zara Spook, missing it completly. Looks like rain moving in this afternoon. Supposed to clear out around noon Sunday.

Followed the advice of weather.com last night and slept in because they said it was going to rain until Noon. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG....WRONG!!! Rolled out at 0700, noticed it had not rained last night, checked the computer and WOW, no rain scheduled. Hit the water (after pulling off the cover because of the "Heavy Storms" forecast for Saturday night/Sunday AM) from 0730-1030 (got too hot after the sun broke through). Did OK, 4 LMB with 2 nice sized. Missed a couple (mostly frogs in the slop). Three were on top and one on a Rattle Rap. Went back out from 1800-2000 before heading home. Did well. 2 LMB (each were nice sized) and 2 SMB (both around 1.5 lbs). All were on topwater. Missed two. Again, no snot rockets (two days in a row, a lake record for me). Had one jump over my Zara Spook. I know I would probably catch more fish if I started playing with worms and whatnot, but man, I love topwater.

Banged out a great weekend of fishing. Saturday I was fishing the apple river down in somerset. Caught many a small mouthbwith a few mooneye and suckers in the mix. Could not get any walleyes though. Today we got back and headed straight to nebagemon. Fished for about 4 hrs. Caught a pike 22", and a bunch of gillz and perch. Again no walleyes.

Only out Saturday from 0630-1000 on the mighty Minnesuing. Excellent weather. Dead calm and cloudy most of morning. Did OK. 8 LMB (from 10-16 inches, most in the 12-14 range), 2 SMB ( a 14 and an 18). The good fortune did run out though, 2 hammerhandles (both in that 18-24 inch range). Brutal day on tackle too. Lost my favorite Jr. Spook (on a bass, my fault. Did not retie after a few fish.) and busted one of my rods trying to crank out of some nasty weeds (line stayed intact- saved lure, rod blowed up). All fish on top other than one of the bigger LMB's on a spinnerbait.

Out from 0545-1000. Did well. 10 LMB's from 10-16 inches. Three SMB's from 10-14 inches. One 14 inch eye and one 20 inch eye (they were on the deeper weed edges). Could I keep the Walleyes? No. Why? Because my livewell didn't work. Never had to run it yet this year (Did work late last year. Went with a guy who insisted on keeping fish). Went under the dashboard and jiggled some wires, checked some connections and still nothing. Not too worried. Motor starts, bilge still pumps out (Will be needed after this storm), fishfinders still go, trolling motor on an independent system. I guess I will just have to fish for bass the rest of this year. Bummer. Maybe I will go buy a drain plug, dry out the livewell, and have some more storage. This may work out for the best yet.

Pleasure to meet ya Raider! It's nice to run into other fm"ers out there!

Fished minnusing from 12:30-3:00. Pretty decent afternoon. Wasn't going for walleyes today. Had a bass tourney guy that wanted to get some sows. Caught 7 fish. 1 pike, and 6 largies including a 18 1/2" and a 19 1/2". Sad story- the big guy had to come home, he was going to die. Caught all fish on top water and spinner baits against weed lines. Later dudes!

Hey Jarrid, nice to see you out there. Unfortunately, my day was not as successful. Accidentally left the console depth finder on when I covered the boat last week (oops). Get to the cabin around 1:00ish, turn the key, zippy. Dragged the charger out of the shed and down to the boat and put it on for a half hour. Still nothing. Said heck with it and fished the cabin shoreline on the troller. Caught a small LM and one ever-present hammerhandle. Got bored, came back in and put the starter on the charger for three hours and it got to the point where it would turn over. On the good news side, for whatever reason my livewell decided to start working again. Why? Who knows. Jarrid, I apologize for not bailing and giving you guys that shoreline when you came around the bend, but I had nowhere else to fish and it's hard to bail at 3.5mph.

Was going to hit the st louis today, but decided to tackle ULSC. Tryed all day for the elusive walleye. No success. But did stay busy catching other species. 5 pike (biggest was 25", 2-19 1/2" and a couple of small ones), 5 smallies (2-14" and the others smaller), and a nice bag of class A blue gillz). All fish released! I also found a blue life jacket for a skiier. Let me know if it's yours! All in all a fun day with the dog and me. Fished from 11:30-8:00.

On another topic: water is very high and out of control. Boat access docks are sunk about 2-3 ft. Had too fanagel the rig to launch and load. Some cabins/houses are surrounded by flooding water. I actually snagged a pike just a fee feet from one cabins back door. The lady who owned the place got a big kick out of that. Hopefully this coming rain doent add to the heck. I'd hate to see more ruined homes. Later dudes!!!!!
