riversmallmouth35,

He's already indicated we doesn't want to play for the Wolves by choosing to play in Spain this year. As far as potential, every player drafted has potential, it's what you do with it that counts. I hope you're right and he, one ;turns out to be a player that can help the Wolves and two; he signs with the team. Having Love back will help this team but they need so much more than that.

thats ridiculous. he can't come here this year. he couldnt. the team can only contibute 500,000 on a buyout. HE WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE 8.3 MILLION DOLLARS in the bank to come here this year. He could have potentially hit that in endorsements contracts being taken 1 or 2. Can't do it at 5. you have to pay your buyout, you don't just forget about it. The league is VERY strict about how much the team can help.

it was an absolute no brainer that he was staying in Europe. it wasnt a team based decision in the least.

chris paul said at 17 rubio was doing things he couldnt at 23. Kobe Bryant called him the best PG he'd ever played against.

Another thing bout the triangle offense. Just like Flynn who is a pick and role player, so is Rubio so how they gonna work this offense. Still haven't seen fast break at all. Get a new offense that will fit this team better please.

So what they gonna do when team gets the triangle offense and brings in Rubio who will take couple years to grasp the offense?

Hey Jonny: See ball, see man.

Wolves lose 97-96 on Paul's layup

MINNEAPOLIS -- Chris Paul streaked past Jonny Flynn on an inbounds pass to hit a layup with 1.4 seconds left and lift the New Orleans Hornets to a 97-96 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

Paul finished with 15 points and 14 assists. Trailing by one point with 3.9 seconds to go, Paul threw an inbounds pass to David West. As Flynn turned his head, Paul raced to the basket for a backdoor layup and the win.

Peja Stojakovic scored 21 points and reserve Marcus Thornton added 20 for New Orleans, which snapped a five-game road losing streak.

Al Jefferson had 17 points and a season-high 16 rebounds and Ryan Gomes scored 21 points for the Timberwolves.

It is a young group of guys with alot of talent that needs to be molded for the NBA type of play......they are in no way a playoff contending team but with the core of young players and a few draft picks and maybe a free agent signing they can be very competitive in the next 2-3 years!!

and as for losing ping pong balls they have just as good of a chance to win the #1 pick with the 3 worst record as they do with the 2nd worst record the way the ping pong balls have fallen for the Pups in the past......plus we might be able to trade one of our 3 1st round picks plus the rights to slick Ricky Rubio to get the #1 pick!!!

I am with the camp that likes to see them lose, I agree we have a good core, and it is nice to see Brewer progressing nicely. But every win seems to be a little bittersweet in our attempt to have a chance at the #1 or #2 picks.

we won't have the worst record even if they lose the rest of their games this season....New Jersey is guranteed the most ping pong balls!!! So we are fighting for the 2nd worst record and if you know anything about the NBA they already know who is going to get the #1 pick (that is why they do the ping pong balls behind closed doors) next year so cross your fingers maybe it is our lucky year!!! John Wall!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Went to Wednesday's Bobcats game with my wife, Perchjerker, and Perch's son. Valiant effort to come back from down 19, but they hand it away at the end by saving the ball into their own basket to a Bobcats player for the go-ahead dunk.

    • Sounds pretty sweet, alright. I will check them out, thanks.
    • If you really want to treat your wife (and yourself) with a remote operated trolling motor, the Minn Kota Ulterra is about easy as it gets.  Auto stow and deploy is pretty awesome.  You just have to turn the motor on when you go out and that the last time you have to touch it.   24V 80lb.  60 inch shaft is probably the right length for your boat.  They ain’t cheap - about $3k - but neither one of you would have to leave your seat to use it all day.
    • Wanderer, thanks for your reply. I do intend for it to be 24 volt, with a thrust of 70-80. Spot lock is a must (my wife is looking forward to not being the anchor person any more).  With my old boat we did quite a lot of pulling shad raps and hot n tots, using the trolling motor. Unlikely that we will fish in whitecaps, did plenty of that when I was younger. I also need a wireless remote, not going back to a foot pedal. We do a fair amount of bobber fishing. I don't think I will bother with a depth finder on the trolling motor. I am leaning toward moving my Garmin depth finder from my old boat to the new one, just because I am so used to it and it works well for me. I am 70 years old and kinda set in my ways...
    • Dang, new content and now answers.   First, congrats on the new boat!   My recommendation is to get the most thrust you can in 24V, assuming a boat that size isn’t running 36V.  80 might be tops?  I’m partial to MinnKota.     How do you plan to use the trolling motor is an important question too.     All weather or just nice weather?   Casting a lot or bait dragging?   Bobber or panfish fishing?   Spot lock?  Networked with depth finders?  What brand of depth finders?
    • We have bought a new boat, which we will be picking up this spring. It is an Alumacraft Competitor 165 sport with a 90 horse Yamaha motor. I will be buying and installing a trolling motor,  wondering if I can get some recommendations on what pound thrust I will want for this boat?  Also, I will be selling my old boat, is there a good way to determine the value on an older boat ( mid-80's with a 75 horse 2-stroke  Mariner motor)  I will appreciate any help with these questions.
    • Sketti...  not out of a jar either!
    • Lol yeah I watched that
