Nice family

I got lucky one two fronts. It was a very foggy morning. That may be why they were out in the open. It also let my camera make a better exposed image.

This photo recently took third place in the nature catagory at the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge contest. First place was called Muskrat Munchies (it actually was a beaver) and was a cool closeup of one eating a lily pad. Second place was the same group of swans that I had shot, but it was a week or two later (the young ones were bigger) and shot in bright sunlight. I kind of liked mine better due to more detail in the birds becasue of the fog (better exposure). You never know what judges are going to like. I was still happy that one of my shots got something. It was really the first time I had entered a contest.

They don't look like "ugly ducklings" to me. All the swans I see around here have ugly bright colored bands around their necks. These make for MUCH better photos.
