...La Crosse, Wisconsin for natural beauty. With it's bluffs along the Mississippi, the area sure has it's unique beauty. The first photo is from Granddad Bluff, where you can take in 3 states at one time. It's definitely a place I'll be spending more time at in the future. A 1/2 day is not near long enough. We stayed here overnight on the way back from Kentucky. Next time, this is as far as we go. La Crosse is only 275 miles from home, vs. 910 to Paducah, KY.

Next time you're in La Crosse, Porky's is a great restaurant. We were there a couple of years ago and they had a fantastic smoked elk tenderloin appetizer.

Better than Red Lobster? My wife insists on shrimp on our anniversary. I don't think she would have considered elk a decent substitute. grin However, I'll try to remember that for next time.

@BirdSong... I love the view just past Lanesboro goin twords Preston on 16... think its just past "Inspiration Point" or something like that.. the view of the valley is absolutely amazing

Takes me back home. I grew up down there and worked right on the river just south of the blue bridge. I used to deckhand on a harbor tug down there too. That was almost 25 years ago now.
