Exciting news regarding Bullhead length rules

19 posts in this topic

Courtesy of Brian K of Briank's Trophy Catfishing and Sturgeon Adventures:

......We are currently finalizing the "Statement of Need and Reasonableness," and, as referenced earlier, would intend to have the rules in place next season. As we discussed last week, I understand your frustrations with the length of the process and appreciate your continuing to work with us.

Please call if you have further questions or concerns. Linda will keep you appraised of the various process steps.

--------------------------------------------

For those that haven't been following along, this has been a 3 year process in trying to get the length restrictions lifted on classifying bullheads as minnows from the current 7" to 10".

Thanks for your work on this Brian!

You mean to tell me one can get 7 inch plus bullheads. I'll need to find a new fishing hole for bullheads.

Exciting indeed. I have a hard time catching a bullhead under 7" around here. Those yellows can get pretty big.

Ive got two AWESOME spots for Bullheads.....one is a bit of a drive tho.....never left either of them without more than enough QUALITY sized Cat Nuggets.

That'd be great, the place we normally get bullheads out of also rarely gives up any less than 7".

I could stop cutting of the tail's whistle

That's like taking away the bell for a short order cook. How would a flathead know when dinner was served?

So if all goes well and this were passed....it wouldn't be until the 2010 season that it takes effect?
