      Members Only Fluid Forum View   08/08/2017

      Fluid forum view allows members only to get right to the meat of this community; the topics. You can toggle between your preferred forum view just below to the left on the main forum entrance. You will see three icons. Try them out and see what you prefer.   Fluid view allows you, if you are a signed up member, to see the newest topic posts in either all forums (select none or all) or in just your favorite forums (select the ones you want to see when you come to Fishing Minnesota). It keeps and in real time with respect to Topic posts and lets YOU SELECT YOUR FAVORITE FORUMS. It can make things fun and easy. This is especially true for less experienced visitors raised on social media. If you, as a members want more specific topics, you can even select a single forum to view. Let us take a look at fluid view in action. We will then break it down and explain how it works in more detail.   The video shows the topic list and the forum filter box. As you can see, it is easy to change the topic list by changing the selected forums. This view replaces the traditional list of categories and forums.   Of course, members only can change the view to better suit your way of browsing.   You will notice a “grid” option. We have moved the grid forum theme setting into the main forum settings. This makes it an option for members only to choose. This screenshot also shows the removal of the forum breadcrumb in fluid view mode. Fluid view remembers your last forum selection so you don’t lose your place when you go back to the listing. The benefit of this feature is easy to see. It removes a potential barrier of entry for members only. It puts the spotlight on topics themselves, and not the hierarchical forum structure. You as a member will enjoy viewing many forums at once and switching between them without leaving the page. We hope that fluid view, the new functionality is an asset that you enjoy .

AUGER OUT OF CONTROL!!!

So Ive got my buddies auger,its an eskimo m43 1.8hp 10",a year or two old.I started it up on the lake this morning,and it idled really well at full choke.So I move the choke from full to run and the thing just starts going full throttle without me touching anything.Brought it home and checked all the throttle linkage,everything is normal,but its still doing it.And it ran just fine on saturday.Any ideas??

Had same issues with mine a year ago (Strikemaster) so I brought it in the house. Went to look @ it next day and when I started it everything was fine. Thought maybe it's linkage or throttle might have been froze.

Something to try maybe !!

I am guessing that when it is running out of control, if you were to load it up, i.e. start drilling holes, it probably fall flat on its face? If so, you have a plugged carb and is running really lean. When you have it idling, the fuel/air mix is right, hence it runs fine, but once you open the choke, it leans out and runs out of control, but doesn't really have any power. I would take the carb off and go through it.

It is running lean. You probably need to clean the carb. Unless somehow the mixture screws on the side of the carb got bumped and turned in?

lately have beed having problems with the throttle freezing up on my SM. usally hold it over the heater a few seconds and its fine. might be the problem with yours.

Its not running lean..If its on full choke it'll run because its like the throttle is open so it wont flood out.When I tun the choke off,it goes by itself,it just runs wide open without me touching the throttle.So its like its just holding itself wide open,but everything in the throttle linkage is normal.

fast, when this has happened did you try working the throttle lever back and forth and did it move, or did you notice any diff, at all? Try looking at it with the motor off and see if your cable is moving the butterfly on the top of the carb. It sounds like the butterfly is stuck open. Take the air cleaner off and look inside the carb and move the throttle back and forth and see if you butterfly is moving? If it is moving then you may have a sticking governor, which only kicks in when the motor starts up.

The butterfly does move with the throttle.When it was running and I hit the throttle there was no resistance from it til I held it completely wide open,then I could feel it catch right at the end.

On an Eskimo, what actually holds the throttle cable housing? Is the housing possibly moving with the actual cable? Something to check. When you say it starts turning, have you tried loading it up by drilling a hole?

fast, try to find some way to hold it, or have someone hold it up and look at the butterfly in the carb when the motor is running, if the butterfly is stuck open and does not react to the throttle when running then you have a stuck Governor. The throttle only moves the butterfly so far then when the motor is running the governor kicks in and runs the butterfly. If the gov, is stuck open it will not let the butterfly close.

Check the butterfly. Mine gets stuck when it's really cold and I have to use my thunb to make it move. I think it is from the exhaust running onto the assembly. You will want to watch which way you lay the auger down if this is the case.

Snow and ice on the linkage. Warm it up and dry it off before you put it back outside. When your set the auger down keep it out of the snow. If your driving across the lake on a sled or wheeler cover the power head to keep the snow dust off.
