Finlander
Funny thing is the land I was hunting last weekend, the land owner put a trail camera next to a pond in the woods and he has around 500 pictures of deer going into that pond since the middle of August! And all sizes of deer too! Alot of bucks but no real monsters. Even one buck we thought had a broken main beam was actually the main beam grew down the side of it's face past it's eye and down to it's mouth! Even had a fawn that looked like it was just born less than a month ago! He put up a tree stand there and hunted it Saturdy evening passing up alot of deer, even the biggest buck that he had on camera. Oh well, maybe next time! Bear55
Now would be a great time to be in the woods scouting if we didn't insane amounts of snow still blanketing the woods.

Big Country
Here are a few tips for those who are new to this sport. I have scoured the inter net in the past for tips on increasing accuracy. I found many mistakes I had been making that would throw my arrows off. Put your nose on the string at full draw. It's just another anchor point that helps you be aware of your stance. Shoot with both eyes open. This took a while for me to get. But after trying, and trying again I have mastered it. Having two eyes open is better than just one for obvious reason. Lastly, when useing a release, make sure the crease under your knucle shooting finger wraps around the trigger. By useing just the tip of your finger like I use to you sometimes slap the trigger as opposed to a slow squeeze. All of the above has VASTLY changed my accuracy and my confidence is now through the roof. BC

Scoot
Ding ding ding!!! You guys nailed it!!! 3-5x/week for me these days. I had some shoulder problems in the off season, so I didn't shoot much Feb - June (I usually shoot about 2-3x/week then). However, my shoulder is feeling somewhat better and I've got some critters to deflate, so I'm shooting as much as I can. I'm trying hard to not shoot too many arrows, but to shoot quality shots every time.Get out there and get practicing!
Big Country
I got one more. With this heavy snow we have had the deer will be moving from bed to feed. We all know this. Buddy tried this trick a few years back and it worked crazy awesome for him. Take a set of snow shoes, go to the area you hunt late season (now) and stomp trails down near your stand. Do a 20 yard square perimeter walk around the tree/blind you are useing. The deer and all of the other critters in the forest will be using your packed trail easily within 24 hours if they are around. Buddy did it a few years ago with lot's of snow for the first time. He torched a big mature doe that got on his packed trail and came right to him as if on a string. Got my snow shoes in the truck and plan on doing some serious cardio after work. 3 more weeks and two doe tags left for the intensive harvest area here. I will report back if anything happens. Big Country
The proof is in the prints! Spent almost two hours snow shoeing through my buddies property to pack down trails for the deer. On the way back I reconnected with my original tracks and low and behold, two deer had hopped on my trail and headed in the direction I came from. Wow, I can't wait to post up next week in one of the trees and see what happens. This was all done in the late afternoon today. Will report back next week hopefully with pictures of one we stick. Bear55
Spring Scouting Season!!! Best time to be in the woods, swamps are frozen for easy walking, all of last falls sign is still around and the bugs and ticks are mostly still in shock from winter.
