leech~~
I have microwaved fish before, walleye, crappies, sunnies, perch.. Does anyone else microwave walleye? How do you do it?... Eecck! Soft rubbery!
Walleyehooker
If it was rubbery you may have cooked it to long. Only takes a minute or 2 depending on size. You have to watch it till it all turns white and flakes apart. I put a little seasoning on it and a little butter when it is done. CrawlerKing
Done right it's very good. Put olive oil on each side of fillet and season as you like. Cover....don't over cook. Great option that I will use when I come in from fishing and want a lunch that is quick to prepare and quick to clean up so that I can get back on the water. It's also the perfect way to cook fish to make fish tacos. Rick
RebelSS
Yup...and cod, pollock, etc. I sprinkle with dill weed, couple dabs of butter, and I do it in a glass dish, covered with plastic wrap. Basically steamed fish. Moist and flakes nicely...BUT, you really have to watch you don't overcook it. I do prefer broiled or batter-fried, though. tazimna
been doing it for years and it is fantastic when done right. I like butter and lemon pepper on mine. Nice option when you want to do just a few fillets. Rick

Ohboytimmy
Son, that is like cooking a steak well done........don't even go there. If you want to keep it minimal with cooking, here is My college days recipe:Thick frying pan at a med high temp finger chuck of butter, drizzle of olive oilseason the fillet with salt and pepper or whatever seasoningCook till brown on both sidesFry up a box of dirty mexican rice You can always caramelize some onions to go on top of that. If you worked that hard to catch a walleye, take the time to make that a memorable meal!!! sunniewally, Rick and ANYFISH2
