Crossbill is Still Eating...and eating...and

I am still working on getting the white-winged crossbill female on a branch. Got closer today. She no longer minds if I come out in the yard--just keeps on eating. I can get within six feet. I'm hoping for a little sun tomorrow:

I saw some whitewings this winter, but I don't remember that bright a coat on the female.

The first one that came four days ago was remarkably different. I had a photo of both on one feeder, but must not have kept it. Here is the first:

I just remembered--our local bird guru says that one is probably a juvenile male moving into maturity. The one above actually had a pinkish tinge to the upper breast. Or maybe its the twenty pounds of black sunnies he/she has eaten.
