buddah7
I was curious how many people use flouro leaders when using fireline or is it just one more knot to worry about on your jigging and rigging setups. I am also wondering lengths and pound test? I mainly fish a very clear lake so was hoping for some kind of advantage for spooky eyes...
NCLaker
I use floro leaders for ice fishing with Firline.Been trying to use floro line for open water jigging - but getting a little frustrated with line twists & stiffness of floro. That stuff is more trouble than I think it is worth. for Jiggin, I am considering either going back to straight fireline, or w/ floro leader, or using a limper copoly/mono (e.g. XL, Gama, Cortlend Endurance). For rigging I use a floro/mono leader attached to a snap swivel. PerchJerker
In clear water I use flouro, or a flouro leader. I tie the leader on with a back-to-back uni knot.
Bulldoggr
I do the same as Perchjerker, only I use a double barrel swivel.
mwal
Definitly use the fireline or power pro with a Flouro leader. I have had great success with the back to back uni knot for attaching the leader as well.Mwal

goose89
Ditto the uni-to-uni for flouro. Remember to keep that know wet when tightening.
NCLaker
Saw on a tv show that some people put glue on the knot after tieing. Anyone here do that - what kinda glue to you use?
MuskieJunkie
Almost all my non-muskie rigs are Fireline Crystal with a flourocarbon leader tied with a uni to uni knot. And most of those are 15lbs Triple fish flouro.Sometimes in darker water I skip the flouro and tie the fireline right to the jig.

I've heard of using a fly fishing epoxy so that the knot slides through the rod guides easier.
Team Otter
I use a leader in clear water. Stained water, not so much. 6# Berkley Vanish
hhguide
I'm with Team Otter. I use the same setup as him.
carpmanjake
i use flourocarbon attached to 10lb mono with a back to back uni. 12 lb for stained water or when there is heavy cover, 6 for clear water or water with no cover.
BeezeHound
I use fireline with a vanish leader, use a barrel swivel in between the lines so I have a stop for my snap sinkers.
